Being a short guy, I've never worn these style of coats simply because I think they make me look like 2 ft tall.

I feel like everything looks better on tall people, at least in menswear.

I believe only double breasted look significantly better on tall people.

Anyone tried Asos overcoats? Is the quality bearable?

e.g http://www.asos.com/ASOS/ASOS-Overcoat-With-Shawl-Collar-In-Camel/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=5279931&cid=3606&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=-1&clr=Camel&totalstyles=1469&gridsize=3

Just copped an All Saints Saul coat second hand on eBay for less than half the retail price. Only problem is I'm a 38 inch chest and the coat is 40. Still fits fine but it's not as snug as I'd like. Would it be worth tailoring it or just hitting the gym to try and fill it out?

Jesus christ you kids are so ridiculously insecure. Unless youre fucking 1.60m you can easily pull off any coat that stop above your knees, especially when worn with a heeled shoe. Short people simply cant pull off really long overcoats. Top coats etc arent a problem.

Oh, and stay the fuck away from double breasted. Also, if possible, get a coat with concealed buttons. Makes for a sleeker look.

Unless you have a size 44 chest or something, a well fitting, wasted, coat will look fine on you if it ends right at the bottom of your knee caps.

Shorter, hip-length coats actually shrink the body, rather than making you look taller. You will always look short next to tall people, but along, the tailoring of your clothing will matter more than the length you choose.

Where I live it is regularly well-below freezing in the winter. I hate wearing anything shorter than my knees.

saul coat is the best

tailoring is a waste of money and usually shit

whether or not the coat is fitting doesn't matter as oversized can be /fa/, and even when its not, its not a low quality item and commoner conventions don't necessarily apply

hope that helps, bitch
