Post SS2013 Geos/Cargobaskets/Ramones/Ramones boots all fit TTS for me, if anything the low tops are a little tight. I wear 44 ramones lows where as I'm TTS 43 on every other pair of ricks. I haven't worn my tech runners in forever but I believe that's correct. Pic related, my ricks

With pants and shorts it varies collection to collection and between the lines. For instance mainline pods I have a pair of 48s that fit like a pair of L in drkshdw... the shirts and tops are different too though unless you're a rake thin skeleton you'd need to go up a size in jackets/leather i.e. 48->50

So trying to cop a Double Layer T on grailed and all the listing (S/M) say the shirt can accomadate any size from S-L. I own a pair, here's the important bits: as numbers go up, the shaft of the boot gets taller (most of the time), s at the end of the numbers is for a slimmer shaft, z at the end is for a double stacked sole.

>> No.10543024

>>10543019
Yeah I guess the used market is kinda limited, definitely want the 988z and the very least. How much slimmer is the shaft on the S model? is it noticeable?

>> No.10543033

>>10543024
I own a pair of 789z, so I can't speak on the s models, but my boots are very slim already. I've read that the s models are even more of a leather sock than normal, however.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the sizing is very unreliable. My pair of Guidi is tagged a 46, but fits me perfectly as a 44, so definitely ask for outsole measurements and comparisons to the sellers normal size if possible.

I forgot to mention, but there is also an m suffix which indicates a mushy toebox, but these are mostly custom order and pretty rare.

does the different leathers effect the rippling? usually on my infrequent grailed searches you only see the FG horse leather ones up

>> No.10543085

>>10543082
The horse leather will produce the most iconic Guidi ripple look, other leathers will look different, yes.

My pair are smoother looking, with thicker, slouchier ripples, not many small sharp creases as a FG horse leather pair would have. This is also a function of the height of the boot, a 789 or 989 wont have ripples as defined as a 788 or 988, and 787's and 987's can be a mixed bag, more dependent on your bottoms than anything else.

I've heard this, and am aware that it may be the case. However, I have seen listings for cordovan back zips, even from retailers. I've seen some that look more like cordovan as well. Regardless, I misunderstood by what the poster meant by ripples, I thought he was referring to the grain of the leather rather than the way the leather folds and stacks.

>>10543971
They are pretty standard for horse 988
You should get a pair. You won't regret it... Unless you get the wrong size of course. I wish I had sized up another half size, if I could find 44.5.

Yeah I'm searching like crazy but can't find any stockists that are restocking in the UK.

I'm a 42 in cp's how would in size in guidi? I've heard their sizing is all over the place

I've seen the "cordovan" backzip listings before, and usually they end up referring to them as fg horse later on.

I can see why you would think we were talking about the grain, and not the stacking/creasing however.

Keep in mind all Guidi's will fit differently and that another pair of boots the same tag size as yours could be bigger or smaller, you may just need to try another pair. If you're interested in selling them toss me an email, its further up in the thread.

I'm a us 10.5, typically wear 43-44. I've tried some Guidi on in a 45 and it's been slightly too large.
These are a 44. I have high arches, that's what always fucks me with shoes

You pretty much *have* to ask for measurements of the boots, they are not consistent across sizes.

>>10544346

I am aware of this as well. All 988 I've tried on have fit the same, however. 788 tend to fit closer to size but still large. The PL2 fit TTS. 991 fit slim as well. They are all over the place.

>> No.10544384

It's pretty much a crapshoot due to their dying and finishing process. A size 45 988 could be a quarter of an inch wider than another size 45 988 from the same batch.

This almost sounds like poor quality control to be honest. Materials and finish shouldn't have nearly as much effect on sizing as last and sole, especially in the same batch.

The boots are tumble dyed and tumble dryed, so some will shrink more or less during the final stages of preparation.

legit cause the trickyricky logo matches (every detail), leather looks legit, when well worn toecap is whiter than outsole, 7 holes, etc, 95% confidence. final confirmation in the sole, we need ricky signature. not even best reps can match well some of these details (dont know in future). Proly other guy thinks fakes cause toecap looks funny but this is due to heavy use. $350 not the best price not bad
