There seems to be some disagreement about people's motivation for being here. Vote below.

To call people out for being fedora losers.

This board has a lot of them.

Sounds like something a fedora loser would do.

question fails because women will find out who you are, always.

if you go out for a night, dress up, and have a one night stand, you might get away with it, but there is no hiding who you are.

I mean that if you take any clothes that give off a certain vibe, let's say you wear jeans, a leather jacket, and are smoking a cig outside a venue, you start talking to a girl, she assumes you're "cooler" than you are. you have to keep up the charade. it only works if you actually own what you wear and are authentic.

that goes for anything. not any one style will attract all women.

I'm trying to say that style should ultimately be a "statement" but not about clothing but about what you represent.

putting on something and thinking it will change you is sadly mistaken, there is no magic jacket. there are no magic shoes. the clothes need to bond with your skin, and you need to enter as a complete individual complete with personality, ambitions, and opinions. you need to bring something to the fucking table.

if you are limiting your life to being a mannequin or the subject of a photo shoot, then continue to see clothes as primary.

but if you live in reality, know that true style develops alongside permanent changes in the individual personalities and capabilities.

if a muscular man enters a bar with flannel, beer in hand, and boots, and he takes a woman home, how long til she discovers he's actually a pussy? it was all an act?
he isn't ACTUALLY MANLY MAN, he just "played the part" to get lucky? The answer is always, soon friends. women sniff them out like a fucking bloodhound on a fresh carcass

I come to remind people that things /fa/ seem to be hyped over are all dated, out of style, unfashionable, and objectively reddit tier (slp, monochrome, kanyecore, etc)

I'm confused. Why can't someone enjoy the fashion side of things and also enjoy the attention it gets? It's like /fit/, in a way - there's an element of lifting that's fun unto itself, and there's an element of it where you kinda do lift to get girls.

i come here to start drama, you fags are one of the easiest board to bait. the mixture of insecurity and underage populace makes for great humor

I'm female so it's different but if I were to dress to get attention from guys all I'd have to do is wear a low cut top and miniskirt. Very different from something "fashionable". Typically I get more attention from other girls.

what are you talking about?

is it the reality or not?

also its not so much I consider it worth writing as it is a response to misdirected assumptions. its a natural objection

like literally that is the shortest I can make an attempt to destroy whatever illusions people have about what clothes or appearance can and can't do, any less and you'll have people disagreeing for lack of understanding,. the "complete thought" is necessary to make the point

>> No.10484020

>>10483648
That's pretty astute. I just don't think there's really the same thing for guys - can't exactly wear a low cut shirt and get girls wet, haha

I originally came here because I wanted to improve my appearance to appear less like a huge nerd, but the reason I've stuck around is to give advice where and when I can.

That and shitpost in the "IZ SMOWKING KEWL GAYUISE THRED #4623462623642234463462363246678795798797798734736"

The only reason I stay here (or on 4chan at all) is because coming to /fa/ encourages me to keep dressing better and differently as opposed to just stagnating. Whether it be inspo or just seeing what fuccbois are doing and knowing to avoid it, this is the only place I really come to keep myself up to date with what I want to wear. I live in New Zealand and everyone's far too basic for me to get inspiration from people on the street.

Uhm gettin new Ideas to look better not for women but for me.

>> No.10484587

(other) - I come to laugh at how riled up people get over fashion trends over the internet, post an occasional fit pic, and check back to see how many times said fit pic is reposted in inspo thread after inspo thread.

I do enjoy fashion, but that is definitely not why I'm here.

For most people it's probably both. For me it's not about getting women, though. It's just about improving my appearance to hopefully build my confidence and have people like me more. I also have a genuine interest in clothing.

I would too. Most dudes I know just want a girl as nude as possible, though, which means that attracting most guys is a fairly easy process.

There's a difference between having a girl like a gf and fucking someone. To make someone want to fuck you, it's pretty easy to do by dressing sluttily. It's a lot harder to make someone want to date you based on your clothes
