Having owned both, the moody runners. The faun springblades are ok, but the silhouette is more slimmer and harder to work into fits. They are oddly tall as well. They look like soccer cleats on, which is an interesting aesthetic...

The moody tech runners in that color way are the most wearable of all the Rick Adidas. I love them and would cop a 10.5-11 in a heart beat for anything <400. My whites are my favorite shoes, so maybe I'm biased.

The insole is lifting up around the top of your arch... I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but from what I imagine it sounds like something a cobbler would be able to fix quickly and for very cheap. You could even get crafty with some shoe-goo (honestly this is what the cobbler would do) to glue it down. If all else fails, they will likely put a cap of some sort on the inside to protect it from further wear. Likely a thin strip of leather.

I can't think of a single Rick thing that wouldn't go with. It's the only pattern he's ever really done, and entire outfits in that pattern look good.

>> No.10392803

But to actually answer your question: black dye is usually shitty. A lot of the time you end up getting dark purple, and it would still have the varied tones of the camo, making it basically a darker version of the current pattern. Also, the lining definitely isn't cotton. This means that it won't hold the dye well and will run a heavy risk of crocking on your nice white t shirts.

Basically, if you want a black jacket, buy a black jacket. This is probably a lot cheaper than a black one, but there's a reason for that.

>> No.10392806

Tech runners are dope. In that color way or triple black. They are on my list to cop.

Spring blades are shit and seem lazy in terms of design. Spring bladed Adidas runners already existed. You don't HAVE to buy a Rick jacket. I own a rick parka and a rick leather jacket, but I went with a damir doma black bomber and I prefer it to the Rick bombers. You can find similar bombers to Rick ones if you look around a bit. However, there is a certain look to the Rick bombers that can't be replicated. But almost every fashion brand has a bomber, and some can be very unique and cool for cheaper. Also, you could probably find a rick bomber for a decent price on grailed or ebay.

The number one rule is to cop good quality shirts/undergarments like the pic related. Rick Owens has some god-tier basics.

Secondly if you're serious about learning how to layer clothes well, watch some runway shows of your favorite designers. Often times they're only 20 minutes long or so and you could easily bang out a few in just one sitting.

If you don't have any designers I'll give you some to start off with.

1.) Ann D
2.) Yohji Y (even though he's more focused on silhouettes, his layering exceptional)
3.) Rick (Though honestly, I would look at ShuiTsang's blog if you're a beginner)
4.) Sruli Recht (only if your feeling eccentric)

Judging by the lace holes they're the boots, maybe the pants and tapered enough to keep the boot in shape at the top

>> No.10410780

>>10410581
Yeah, i guess theyre unfolded and the pants hold them in a bit, i experimented and slim tapered denim does hold them in alot, and you can even put laces through the holes and they look like regular ramones. pretty versatile

Would you happily pay extra on your Rick stuff to get Raccagni zippers again?

>> No.10411245

>>10411235
Yeah, but we shouldn't have to. Raccagni zippers aren't even that expensive, and Rick's profit margins could take the hit.

>> No.10411728

That is true

Older, but looks legit. All the hoodies were moved over to the new pocket shape several years ago.

Yeah it came today, it's legit to my eyes. Throughly sun bleached. Considering re dyeing it blacker again

Is this DRKSHDW bomber worth it, for $500?
