you are so far off the mark as far as the actual functionality goes it's not even funny. the various uses of it, from what >>10279514 described to it's applications as a functional fashion via the urban aesthetic (think Acronym/CP Company/Maharishi/Ten-C/SISP/etc.) to more outdoor-heavy aesthetic (Arc'Teryx/Klättermusen/Norrona/Gore Tex/etc.) to the all around, every day activity (Outlier/Endless Ammo/Aether/etc.), they've designed, incorporated, and in some cases engineered garments that last much longer and perform leagues better than what else is on the market. your projection of comfy sweatpants does not equate to the target group of those who normally purchase this clothing.

it is far more functional, especially when used appropriately. i say that solely because i have already made the switch from buying those $200 raincoats every year to the appropriate shells and materials. i don't mind paying the costs that are associated because i appreciate the research and time spent designing them.

you're 100% correct that is that most people won't use them for anything more than comfort, but living where it gets to be -40 fahrenheit in the winters i've found that quality (GoreTex/Schoeller/nanosphere/etc.) trumps burning through 'cheap' lookalikes. snow and bitter cold are a fucking bitch, and when you enjoy both the performance and the aesthetic, it makes purchase an almost no brainer.

nah. gyaksuo is just the same dri-fit polyester they use in most of their garments. White Label made in Italy uses some pretty nice coated cottons and wools and ACG has Gore-Tex and other proprietary polyesters
