i own black nappa 1460s from 2010, English oxblood 1490s, and my gf has Chinese "cherry red" 1460s

the nappa has definitely held up the best. the leather on the English oxblood pair was the thickest, but my break in period was easier than most. English leather wore faster than the Chinese nappa but it looks nice worn. cracks are unavoidable

gf's cherry red are much more plasticky than either of mine. they still look good on her and then though they are plasticky the leather is probably more durable than the English but my gf is very jealous of the wear and tear on mine and their color. Both of my pairs have substantial wear on the sole which I prefer.

I've never found the yellow stitching to be that noticeable so it's always surprising to me when people think it's so annoying

Buy second hand where possible.
Newer and made in Thailand or China have a plasticky tacky look to them that ruins the boot.

Second hand boots from the 90s won't set you back as much as a new pair and theyll look better. Plus the soles were solid without the air pockets of the soles now which made them more durable too.

Doc Martens gave me some MiE 1461s, they have a much slimmer silhouette than my old Chinese ones.

I can't speak for the older ones but the new doc martens are cheap as fuck, the soles are chinese junk. I bought the Icon Boots off the Industrial line for work, and after wearing them 2 months through the winter the soles cracked across the center, almost all the way through.
