It was a loft in a converted warehouse in Bushwick, BK. Pretty unique space. My flatmate and I paid $1200/mo each when we moved in, but the place went up to $1750/mo per person after we moved out. I can only speak to finding apartments like this in NYC to be honest, though I'm sure they exist in other cities if you look hard and are willing to put in work once you move in.

I mean you theoretically could, but if you're seriously talking about buying an abandoned warehouse and making it livable, that's a massive undertaking. The legal issues alone (zoning, etc) are a nightmare, plus it'll be uninsulated, power/water hookup is an issue, there's going to be cockroaches and shit all over, and most abandoned warehouses tend to be in areas with nothing around them. That shit is basically a 6 month full time job at least.

Moving to a community that already exists in a converted industrial area is a lot easier, even though the rent per month might be more expensive.

How big was it? I have a conflicting image of Brooklyn is it full of twenty somethings barely scraping by and spending most of there money on rent, or is it impossible for anyone without a good job to afford a decent place there? I understand it'll depend on the area, but Williamsburg for example, has it been taken over by middle class yuppies or is it still possible for someone to work a job like retail or a coffee shop or some shit and afford an apartment and fun lifestyle? I want to live the GIRLS lifestyle tbh

if you're young and not wealthy you're living with several roommates in a shitty apartment/neighborhood. Granted, I've never seen girls but its an expensive place to live and frankly, isn't as cool as you're imagining it.

I like it a lot but its not some hipster refuge of starving artists. Lots of older people, lots of families in the neighborhoods you're likely imagining

If you want to move to Bushwick b/c you saw Girls then honestly fuck off. It was a great place to live before a bunch of yuppie wanna be "artists" moved in and jacked the rent so that they could feel like they were in Girls. Now there's coworking spaces with Herman Miller chairs and Keurigs popping up everywhere and people are paying the same as they did before they moved from the Village. That's why my roommate and I ended up moving out. Its basically dead at this point.

Not really because I saw Girls, most of the characters are insufferable and I think thats kinda the point, I mainly watch it because of the setting and because of based Ray, I just thought that was a good way of summing it up.

I live in a city that has kind of a mini-wanabe hipster kind of area, and it all looks so nice and could be so cool but its frequented too much by yuppie students that move here from the middle of nowhere and its all too trendy and expensive for me to actually want to do anything there

I don't really like it, it feels like a temporary setup. To each their own though, just strive to be better than the inspiration. Plus you have not much room to work with.

This floor looks pretty good, the rest is a bit gaudy though; too many details going on.

Any type of climbing vine,
>phildendron. Fairly easy to take care of and grow in indirect sunlight
>pothos, Or devil's ivy. Not actually poisonous and even more easy to work with. Needs minimal watering and light exposure
>spider plant, forms plantlets in asexual reproduction so you can make them make a web if you wanted, nice looking leaves too.
>Wandering jew, comes in different colours and grows pretty quickly. Honestly would recommend this one or the spider because they grow even under florescent lights but you can never trust this plant
>climbing jasmine, beautiful pearl white flowers
Black eyed susan vine gives off yellow flowers with blackcenters, not very effay

Terrible.
Such a nice fireplace and then those ugly ass uncomfortable chairs in rows in front of it.

Those candles are burning black stains or worse onto the inside walls of that compartment.

Yeah true story, I put a cheap mattress on the floor when I lived somewhere for 6 months as an interim. Wooden flooring and good climate but had mold at the bottom after a while.
Maybe doesn't happen with better mattresses.

Didn't look too hard, but all of these seem to be renderings. Not sure why you picked just this one out.

I don't like it at all tbh, it probably already looked dated even when it was new
>>10256046
Yep, I thought about that as well. I would assume it was meant for shampoo and such, not candles.
