Sup. I'm trying to purchase an entry level swiss automatic. Top of budget is ~6K. What are your suggestions? but so far I have my eyes on the models below. I probably have undiagnosed autism but I would prefer a sapphire caseback and mildly decorated movement.

Cartier tank solo XL - automatic and large enough compared to the other cartiers. No exhibition case back.

Omega seamaster 300 master co-ax. Either in SS or titanium. Don't really see any negatives.

Omega darkside of the moon - only contrast is between polishing of black. Negative is bracelet.

Omega grey side of the moon - super cool.

Zenith - el primero with the open heart complication thingy.

Rolex - milgauss maybe?

I'm 25. no children

About to pull the trigger on an SKX007, any other good divers I should consider in that price range?

Metal bracelet or rubber strap?

Fuck yeah. Thanks for the Constellation, gramps.

>>10178394
>6 grand is entry level
If you say so, man. I'm not sure how I can really be helpful, but I guess I'll tell you what I would get:
That Seamaster is pretty neat. I don't like speedy special editions much though, personally I'd go for a regular Professional. You could get the sapphire sandwich, that has a nice display case and a cool chrono movement to look at. I'm really not a fan of Cartier or the El Primero. Milgauss is cool I guess but I'd get a no-date sub and a GMT and maybe a day-date and an explorer I all before I got a Milgauss.

>>10178408
007 is excellent, I would get it over anything else near that price. Make sure you get a super oyster bracelet too, makes the watch 10 times better.

I'm not going to lie to you, I grew up a privlidged piece of shit. But i'm trying to better myself. This purchase will be entire of my own earning from what I've saved YTD. I would like to have a no date submariner but I almost feel as though I may be too young to pull off that watch?

I was also looking at breitling superocean heritage 42 pic related, but alas no sapphire back. I love how the watch looks but i have reservations about purchasing a dive oriented watch from an aviation oriented manufacturer. Maybe I'm autistic and retarded who really knows?

I forgot to mention, if you get a sub make sure it's an older version and not one of those ass ugly piece of shit maxi cases. You'll save a bit of money that way too. I really don't like Breitling myself, but that particular model doesn't look so bad I guess although it's a bit plain and unoriginal like you said. I don't have a problem with your budget, I'm just saying that when most people say "entry level" they're talking about something for maybe a few hundred dollars.

Also I guess you already said Swiss, does that mean you're not a fan of Grand Seiko? Because that's another line of really nice watches to consider, especially if you want something a bit more low-key than a Rolex which will immediately be noticed and recognized by most of the people you meet.

The more I think about it, the more I am confirming autism. I actually have a pretty decent/cool japanese watch right now. It is eco drive and atomic so i never have to worry about charging it or setting it etc. pic related But to me I have this tier rating in my mind as far as consumer goods. example watches and cars.

1) Swiss/German ex. AP,PP, BMW, Porsche, etc
2) Japanese ex. Seiko, Citizen, Lexus, Infiniti etc.
3) American idk Hamilton? ford, gmc etc.

9001) Chinese

I feel like I'm already sitting at tier 2. I drive an infiniti (black - what watch would pair well with that?) I want to go for tier 1 eventually, BMW m4 lol.

It's going to be your damn watch, if you just feel better owning something Swiss then you don't need to justify it. There's a lot of pretty neat German watches too by the way though, now that you mention it. Most of them are pretty damn ugly though, but that's sort of their charm too.

Alright, if you say so. It's pretty easy to buy whatever strap you like and put it on any watch and it'll likely be higher quality than whatever it comes with anyway, so don't let the strap it comes with be a huge deciding factor in picking a watch.
