Can ANYONE give me some tips on improving my room? I'm desperate and you're all the most stylish

It's big but so generic and boring. But I have no idea how to go about changing it.

Was thinking a hippie theme but not sure how to do it.

Cheers if anyone can give me tips.

The most obvious thing I'd do is paint the brown wall - it's a really, really antique style. That said, painting walls like that can be a fucking bitch if they have stain or some sort of protectant on them, so who knows.

Painting them white I guess you mean? I could try

Throw the bookshelf out, get a modern light or dark wooden floor

On second thought, just throw everything out and buy actual furniture

yeah as >>10091984 said, the brown walls are really bad. Particularly because they clash so much with the white shelving installation and bedframe. my advice would be to either change the brown walls and replace the carpeting with hardwood, or alternatively if you aren't remodeling just redecorate by staining the shelving and bedframe unit a darker shade and get a throw rug.

the chair, couch, and mirror are also ugly and should be replaced

you also have all your furniture so crowded together. move the bed towards the window and move the couch away from the desk

>> No.10092032

>>10091978
get rid of sheets, you don't need blinds and curtains and both are ugly anyways. Rip up carpet if you can. Space your furniture out more. That desk>couch>bed looks so cramped.

I can't get rid of the curtains haha my room gets too light in the morning

Definitely going to space it all out. 10/10 advice

Shit op your room looks nice (you have only to change furniture imho), don't take too serious advice from here ir you'll end up with >>10092010 or >>10092022, which are 2 really shitty design styles (the first really suck, the second it's impratical and works well only if you live in an ancient house and you're an artist)
Now i'll search for you something nice from the interior design inspo thread you could easily go with

>>10092088
I'd say you should trash every furniture you have in there, specially closets, the desk and the couch. Do this gradually and start replacing only with a precise scheme in mind, then you could see if there is something else out of place.

>> No.10092206

>>10092125
my advice is to take out the carpet and put a throw over hardwood, but if you aren't going to tear out the carpet, yes, put a throw rug over the carpet

>>10092088
change the blinds and curtains

incidentally, the view from your room looks nice op

>> No.10092234

the wood finish walls are fucking disgusting, get rid of those and put in some hardwood floor and you'd be on the right track

Go for this style op, no need to change floor, walls or shit like that. Trash the planks at the desk left, trash the desk and the couch. Place everything on the white shelves under the big window (the one nex to the bed). You can pile the things like pic related or buy low shelves where to place them. Replace the closet with the mirror on it with a clothes rack, replace the other closet with a nicer one. Keep the bed for now, buy a lot of plants.

I've seen a few posts saying to do away with the wood, I wouldn't. Glossy wood does look dated and bad imo, but don't waste that wood if it's real. Sand that shit down and restain it with a matte clear coat or something. That'll keep the natural look you're going for and a lighter wood will look good with all your sunlight. You've got a cool room and I'd try and keep that character, just improve it.

depends on your budget but here is what I would do

1. make it more uni colour (bed, desk, bookshelf -> light brown wooden or paint everything in white)
2. get rid of at LEAST half of the crap you keep in that shelf, what are you? a 12-year-old girl?
3. When 2. , throw away that little cupboard in the window corner and keep your shoes or whatever is in there in the new big shelf youve bought
4. replace that cupboard with a big ass tree and put it in the corner (plants are ridiculous important)
5. get some new curtains which fit to the new stuff

hes is some more inspo:

-Different wall color
-Put up art/posters/photos on the walls
-Add a plant somewhere
-Mood lighting
-Area rug to liven up the dull carpet
