I currently only own 2 pairs of really beat up TOPMAN sneakers, and a great condition pair of adidas gazelles. I dont know why that aother guy dismissed flyknits as a viable option for running shoes, as they work pretty damn well. When it comes down to it, its only the "type" of running shoe that matters (minimalist/stability/cushioned) that
matters. Big name brands usually put out top-notch running shoes. Will $190 buy you some top of the line organic, gluten free sneaker made in some fantastical utopia? Sure, but at the end of the day they'll do just as well as a pair of flyknits.

Also invest in a good pair that you personally enjoy vs listening to what people say here, you have boundless options for leather shoes, either derbies, oxfords, wingtips, etc

Also i find a lot of good deals on auction sites like ebay and rakuten, including brand new stuff. Copped 7 hole butteros that retail for about 600 for half the price and if i remember there were several leather shoes made with guidi leather selling at $300 usd more or less.
