What are /fa/'s opinions on Red Wing boots?
I'm trying to cop some regular plain black boots and stumbled upon Red Wing which is known for its quality and heritage. Thanks for helpers.

Pic is what I'm talking about along with webpage. Are these motorcycle boots bad if it's worn just for casual footwear? (Not a motorcyclist)

>this thread is mainly a recommendation of cool black boots.

You stumbled upon a brand that is known for its heritage....think about that for a second
Huge sigh
Dude they're fine but try them in person first
The closed channel sole stitching on those boots makes them look pretty bad though

Those actually look pretty cool, are there any other that are similar without the lining on the toes in the front?

Didn't want to start a new thread so I'll ask here:

What's the consensus on Wolverine 1000 mile boot?

I'd rather get a pair of Chippewa Troopers.

The sole stitching looks really weird by the heel counter

op, check out the chippewa service boot. about 50 bucks cheaper than the red wings, and I think the quality is pretty comparable. I own both. I think the chippewa's are actually a little more comfortable.

Just ordered a pair the other day (Rust, 9D). Lots of people really seem to like them, though be wary of the leather sole. Many recommend replacing it with a Vibram one for harsher climates. Aside from that, the leather ages well and doesn't require too much upkeep.

Retail is a bit pricey at $360, though sales often price them around $220-240. You can get seconds from STP for about that price, or wait for the seconds to go on sale for about $160.

Canada sale on doc up to 80% off

I just copped some old Vietnam era combat boots, but was about to cop these if they weren't MSRP and now they are on sale $97 USD.

Docs are a bit plebby, but still classics
