Hey /fa/ quick question

Does anyone here have an air mattress as their
'permanent' bed? Could you pull it off in a /fa/ way? My room is quite small and having an air mattress would save me a lot of valuable space

Use a futon, anon
They convert into a couches, and nice ones are better than some beds

DON'T fucking do it.
I tried it for 3 months because I was in debt and trying to dig myself out.
It fucked up my back for a YEAR.
They aren't meant for long term use and they WILL fuck you up.

Get a bed off of amazon. There are some super cheap memory foam ones.

Don't skimp on anything that cushions you from the ground.
Shoes
Tires
Mattresses
Etc.

If you're trying to save space, wouldn't getting a bed on risers, or with drawers, or a loft bed, enhance the storage capabilities of your room?

Seconding this. Actual Japanese futons, with the takami(?) mat. Futon couches smell bad when slept on constantly, and air mattresses fuck you up. I say this from experience with all three.

Staying at a friends for a while and tried to sleep on one, didn't last 3 days, I just sleep on the floor on 4 puffy blankets and its so much more comfortable.

What are you sleeping on?

>> No.9970088

OP theres a way better way to do it.
your bed is a sofa/chair/bed/desk/table/foot stool/ etc etc
its honestly way better to just get a small (like a twin or something) bed, or a creative frame similar to the ones already posted. depending on your needs, like if your the one who people usually hang out with, youll need it for extra chairs etc.

Anyone sleep on a cot longterm for months?

>> No.9970640

Very, very true.

>>9969832
Don't do Japanese beds. I slept on a futon (i.e. Japanese bed - yes, the nomenclature is dumb) for about 6 months. All it resulted in was a sore-ass back, the inability to flop into bed, and the awkward feeling of having to kinda lay on the floor and scootch into bed. And yeah, sex on them is pretty annoying.

A Western-style futon (i.e. sleeping couch or some shit) would be infinitely preferable.
