I recently got a job working on a freight train, and need some sturdy, steelworker, or "industrial" inspo.

Also, if it can be found in a military surplus store that's even better

Any examples? That's a little vague.

You aren't gonna have much freedom regarding that, man. Boots are likely gonna need to be compliant, clothing is gonna have to be fitted enough to be compliant, etc.

Plus, few people on here have ever actually done manual labor in their life.

Do you know what kinda OSHA shit you have to follow, clothing-wise? That'll kinda dictate your options.

Uhhh, wrong.

Whether they follow stuff like this to a T is another story, but rule of thumb: no loose shit, etc.

This dude's got it right. It's actually a great opportunity if you can dig the aesthetic. Nothing more satisfying than putting the wear on yourself.

As Patrick said, it's from UO. The price is pretty ridiculous though. Just go on eBay and look for vintage chore coats.

Dickies makes excellent work pants that are easily mistaken for something more formal than typical work pants but they are tough. You could also get some labor oriented polos. Sketchers has a "for work" line that are pretty nice and their steel toe work shoes are good too. Having worked similiar jobs I highly recommend you get some nice gel insoles otherwise your feet will constantly be hurting.

No tight pants. You will literally be laughed out of a job. God damn we always laugh at fsggots that buy brand name clothes just to get them filthy and fucked up. You know only men will be there right? Who you looking pretty for fsggot?

They sell higher-end stock at some store, but generally when they write that something is online exclusive, it is. Most one-of-a-kind pieces are like this.

Interestingly, you can order things online and return in-store for a refund. If the store doesn't offer the item in other sizes, they have to mark the price down, I think, by at least 40%. I don't know if that's only in Canada or if it's the same policy at all UO stores. People might take advantage of this with help from their friends but they must have a way of making sure that doesn't happen.

This is rather true. I have to wear much looser pants than i would like so it doesn't affect my relationships with my colleges. I wear 501s. Since I work in oil I am concerned that my pants could catch on the drill floor, so I have them tapered, but still, they feel baggy.
