Thom Browne or Tom Ford here because I'm boring like that.

Thomy b is far from boring his stuff provides a nice twist on the classic suit and he does a lot of fun things as well.

Thom Browne or Hedi would be my choice, but I think I'd be more inclined to go with Hedi as he has more options for both casual and formal. While Thom does have casual stuff I'd still feel overdressed a lot of the time.

Yeah it's pretty hard to make even a slightly formal look with such heavily distressed and deconstructed pieces. Also since a vast majority of what Luca does are knits you would be fairly constricted in that sense as well.

I think MA+ or Carpe would fit into a fairly similar aesthetic while providing more formal and work friendly choices.

You both need to look deeper into collections. LUC also does insanely nice suiting and formal wear, usually out of crazy rare fabrics. Not everything they do have the 'over dyed in a mud puddle' feel, and the majority of collections are very clean. The object dyed stuff is the bread and butter product that brings in the victim cash flow.

Ma+ is very nice, but check out taichi murikami, his pattern makers line. The product is very subtle but intensely beautiful in detail. H Lorenzo did a nice presentation on him in their features

>> No.9957707

>>9957608
Everything is wrong with daniel P, conceptually.

The excess of fabric look can be traced from royalty to even american gangsters and their zoot suits. In the 30's depression era, fabric, especially luxury fabrics, were insanely rare and expensive. So gangsters started having suits made from massive amounts of fabric to show off how much they can afford. The same can be applied to lines like rick Owens. The drapey-vibe is a way to display how much luxury material you can afford or wear. With Daniel Patrick, its cheaply milled garbage cotton/jersey knit. And that's it. No blends, no cashmere or silk. Just cheap and thin jersey cotton. Its conceptual garbage.

People who wear Daniel Patrick are LITERALLY posers.

Source: I know Daniel, have owned tons of his shit (was given for free to promote his line), and have concluded that his shit is garbage.

The Deepti stuff I've seen at Hlorenzo is amazing. Especially all the garments that use silver. Such beautiful stuff.

In an ideal world I'd have a CCP overlock coat and Jeans. The Tornado zip boots I used to own were great too. Made of absolutely superb leather.

Commes and Yohji are solid choices too, but the silhouettes don't complement my body type to the point where I'd want a closet soley made of those pieces.

Its pretty trite to say, but Lang is amazing. I've never felt a closer tie with a garment then with Lang garments. Perfectly made, subversive when you want it to be, but can be worn in every environment or situation.

Agreed, i actually have a very clean/basic jacket from luca which fits in what can be described as formal.

The thing is it fits slightly longer on my body while perfectly fitting arm length wise, so it throws out a fit if i were to wear it like a regular formal type jacket cz imo it needs something abit "more" to match it for pants. Doable with regular wool pants, but not "great" if you get what i mean. Also, as far as i know those kind of things are far and few in between, meaning copping will be tricky to do if you wanna exclusively dress in his things. Maybe i'm reading too much into this.

Have also been considering a lumen et umbra cotton wool blazer + linen cotton pants for a while now

I've seen taichi's stuff for sale occasionally on auction sites, very nice from what i can see. Don't recall if it was subtle but quality wise they looked great.
