Cons: soft science-y, afraid of not getting job

Pros: you contribute and heal others and shit, job stability, salary
Cons: not sure if I'd be good enough, no time for anything, slaving away
>biology
Pros: pretty interesting
Cons: I'm not THAT interested in a lot of fields, probably slave tier also according to my aunt who works in the field
>nutritional science
Pros: I'm into it (even read the fit sticky, like, twice or something so I'm pretty much an expert)

I was always the smart kid or one of the smart kids in school but then I had emotional bullshit and stopped learning when I was 15-16
Now I'm just stupid and can't concentrate anymore
Same exact thing happened to my father
He still boasts about success he had as a kid and it's pretty pathetic
I miss the exact thing you'd need for medicine, the ability to learn a shitton
These last two months I cut all bullshit, internet, television, cleaned up diet, didn't help one bit
I can go on for 3-4 days with learning then I just stop for two weeks and make almost no progress it's been like that for the past 3 years
And I'm afraid of psychiatry tbh I probably would get diagnosed with ADD but I don't trust them (not illuminatifag or anything, it just seems really undeveloped and they gave out nobel prices for lobotomy about 60 years ago and I don't fucking trust their shit)

Then blows a shitton of money on a nice travel for 2-3 weeks or something and that's very nice but I don't think it's worth it

because nobody is going to hire you to manage other people if you have little/no relevant knowledge
and also, management is common sense and can be picked up easily without a degree

it's much better to have a practical degree such as finance, engineering etc.
because people will actually hire you if management doesn't work out
and you'll actually be capable of managing other skilled finance and engineering etc people if need be
and other reasons

It isn't a 'bad' thing, but basically what >>9941214 said. For example, a person who has a degree in fiance AND good interpersonal/organisational skills is going to be better at managing a team of market analysts over someone with a degree in solely in management.

That being said, having both a degree in management and another in something else (the field you want to manage in) would probably be useful.

Don't do it. Between the limited job options you have in clinic, companies, and manufacturing (most will only need 1-2 for consultants except clinic, and almost everyone seems to go for clinic) and the fact that every other person with a decent internet connection can google some "recommendation on the best diet ever" and be done with it, theres not much else to do.

Basically, a minor is simply a major with fewer credit hour requirements. It's very common to get a major + a minor, given that 4 years is a lot of time.

Double majoring in 4 years or less is generally the better idea. It just ends up sacrificing your summers, which are vaguely worthless as a college student anyway.

I feel the problem with universities is that they pray on people who don't know what they want after school to do by offering degrees based on their interests/hobbies (i.e. music, art, history, etc.). The problem being once the false sense of security veil is lifted and they graduate they find out that there aren't actually many jobs at all in the niche field they studied in. University is a great place to learn about subjects, but if your goal is a job at the end of it, do your research before you start.

Obviously you'll want to have 'some' sort of interest in what you are studying, otherwise you will suck at it, but you don't have to love it. People who say 'do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life' are fucking delusional, OR they got extremely lucky and got a job that doubles as their hobby.

As far as getting job, job markets/ unemployment rates vary by country. So it depends where you live. Obviously the lower the supply of graduates for a particular degree in relation to the number of job openings is, the higher the pay and more job vacancies there are likely to be. That's why grads in graphic design, business management and media communications find it hard to get a job, because the number of/rate at which students graduate those degree are higher than the rate of job openings.

Math, physics, any engineering, anything bio that isn't a straight up bio degree (micro, genetics, etc), any chemistry, geology, astronomy, anything vaguely medical, actuarial science, architecture ONLY if your school is worth its salt. Think about graphic design this way.

Graphic Design is 100% about your past work, the best of which you display in your portfolio. Yes, design school will help you become better at it and employers will like to see that you have a degree. However they care more about your portfolio than they do about a piece of paper.

Also Graphic Design is extremely popular and therefore competitive. So you better be damn good or at least start practicing immediately if you want a job. Your goal is not to get good grades, it is to build a strong portfolio. That is what will get you a job in the industry.

That being said, you will most likely have to freelance for possibly a long period of time due to the saturated job market. I found that the most successful design students were the ones that already did graphic design as a hobby and for people they know (e.g: designed merchandise for friends bands, etc.) Not the people who did it just because they liked drawing.

Also you will need to be able to web design in this day an age (CSS, HTML, etc)

I'm also from Southern California. What city?

SpaceX is surprisingly easy to get into it actually. If you have the degree and are young, with no experience, they will generally still take you.

Expect to work 90 hours in 9 days with only 1 day off on the 10th. They have a very high rate of people leaving due to the workload. You will be incredibly underpaid and overworked but it looks great on a resume.

Business degrees are as useful/useless as the grades and experience you get while studying. If you have high grades, or real experience in the industry, or both. You should have an upper hand over your peers in the race for jerbs after graduation.

you don't make real money with psych until after grad school, even then the job market is becoming saturated as it's a very interesting major and a lot of failed pre-med students go there as most of the credits overlap.

Accounting is certainly one of the more competitive branches of business but it is definitely worth while if you are a good student. Also, having interpersonal skills is more important than most people think, often people will get hired because of how comfortably/well they are able to converse with interviewers.

You will find that most big companies hire graduates from all walks of the business field (e.g: entire divisions staff working in account controllers, internal audio-rs, economists, market analysts, etc) So while a firm may not be an accounting firm, they still hire accountants.

>>9944639
Is right about hours, but a lot of business graduates (finance as well) have to work crazy hours, especially if they are working for investment banks or the big 4 accouting firms (Deloitte, KPMG, PwC and Ernst & Young). If you are ambitious and can see the light at the end of the tunnel though, the hours are worth the potential 6 figure salary you will be earning 5-6 years down the track. (think of the sick cops)

just do what you like as a hobby anon.

I know 10+ Geography grads from multiple colleges and they all got jobs within 6 months. If they can't find a "cool job" they usually go to Texas or middle of nowhere North Dakota to work for oil rigs.

University degree or BSN nursing grads find jobs within like 9 months. I can totally see an ADN working at a McDonalds, but a BSN not really. If a BSN can't find a hospital job they usually go to a small clinic/rehab/LTC/nursing home or to some big rural hospital in like Arkansas or Oklahoma for like a year or two in a ICU/ER then go back to best state California to get a nice job.

I mean the only problem in a compsci career is if you live in the Silicon Valley (where all the kewl jobs are)- you make a shit ton, but then it is quickly depleted by rent, food, and everything that is expensive in the valley, so it kinda equals out to slightly below average (my brother's rent in palo alto is 2k for a 1 bedroom) plus the pretentious bro-gramming fags.
