It depends on the size of your wrist compared to the size of the watch numbnuts.
Lug-to-lug width of the watch shouldn't extend past the width of your wrist.
But unless you have something like 8" wrists, above 42mm is rarely a great idea.
It can be a style like with most Panerai watches, they're meant to be pretty huge.
Even if you do have 8" wrists however, a PAM341 is never a good idea.

As far as the watches, pretty good choices for the uses you listed. I see you haven't even used #2 yet. #3 is kinda pointless, since it's nearly impossible to gauge the time, which is the point of a watch. I have quite a few watches now so people know this about me, a friend gave me this for free last week (i think just some redeemed air miles and he doesn't wear watches). I've never heard of the brand, i think it was like 100euro so cheap, though honestly i care most about looks rather than brand/watch.

I only own minimalist and clean faced watches so i have no idea if it actually "looks good", is it passable enough to keep for an occasion or is it ugly (meaning i will pawn it off for a handful of cash in fact i have a friend who might take it for like 50 euro.)

Its stainless steel and the strap is shit, but i have plenty in this size to put on it if i do keep it.

Apart from strap i think from first impression is that it isn't really ugly, only complaint is the (not sure how to say in english), "metal turny things on side" are a little big.

>> No.9905606

What? If you've got Rolex money you could also afford a Grand Seiko. Unless you were planning on buying a fake of the Rolex or Omegas. That said I would go with the Explorer because it's classy enough to work in all but the most formal of events but also not too dressy for everyday casual wear.

Congrats on the pay rise, must be a decent one for a watch of the caliber you are looking at. I like the rolex explorer and the omega Aqua terra, if you are looking at a seiko in a very high price range I would suggest another model, but that's my personal choice. Look at other Aqua terra models, that would be my choice

You did say it was a pro that it wasn't a maxi case.

If the maxi case was an update why is it less desirable? Wouldn't it being a ceramic bezel and such make it more durable? Or is it more of an aesthetic thing?

Perhaps it would be an aesthetical update to those who wants more "wrist presence" or a "modern" look.
Straying from its heritage and doing trends is not what I'd want from a classic from a supposedly timeless brand.
It's bulky and heavier, too fat for its size.

That said the technological advances are great.
I'd very much like a 16710 with a ceramic bezel and the new movement.
