I want some advice on fasion related to dreadlocks. I've been growing my hair out for roughly under two years and it goes a little past my chin from the top of my head. Now my question is, can a white guy pull off dreads and is there any fasion advice for a white guy with dreads

no matter how strikingly attractive you are, if you have dreadlocks no one will take you seriously.

That's where it doesn't matter because i am never serious, unless it is about doing something like this.

if you look objectively good with dreads then try it out

i would say never let your hair go past your shoulders, and don't let it get nearly as thick or matted as the dude's dreads in the pic. basically make it look as clean as possible. look up locs, generally they're just cleaner dreads

of course if it looks terrible, you're gonna have to abort and cut it all off very fast

But anyway. Who do you want dreads for? Just for yourself? If so do it. Dreads need a couple of years to look good.

If you do it for the grills, don't do it. Bitches hate them and the ones that do usually are fugly.

Your call

Also on a side note: dreads are not a fashion statement but the lack of one. The point is to neglect your hair and don't give a fuck. If you go to an afro barber shop and get dreads, they look shitty and contradict the traditional reasons for dreads

they'll look shit
why do people keep doing this

Do you honestly care what someone does with their hair? The people that get them aren't insecure like you, they don't give a shit.

I really don't like posts like this because the replies are always the same. If you want to get dreads it should be for yourself, because it fits your lifestyle.

When you have straight hair the process is different than with curly hair.

The seperating all the hair out to get even dreads is the same. For straight hair you have to do a metric shit-ton of back combing to get you hair into the slightest tangle. After that its washing your hair as little as possible and if you do use a shampoo that has no extra oils or anything. That's because you want the hair to be as clean as possible to decrease any lubrication.

After that point the process is basically the same
