As I've said before, I like the white better because it looks more like the kawaii grand seikos I can't afford. I think they looks more elegant, too and something about the polished metal indices on a black dial just doesn't sit right with me for some strange reason. And actually now that I think of it I just realized that every dark-dialed watch I have has painted indices and every light-dialed watch has applied indices and that just seems natural to me.

Both are very nice, though.

NOMOS is a relatively expensive German watch making company.

Except if you are talking about fakes.

If you are in for the real deal, you can choose between Rodina (~$120) somebody posted previously, Stowa Antea (~$800-$1000) or Nomos Tangente/Tangomat ($1500-$4000).
All these designs are heavily inspired by a Bauhaus design watch from 1924 or so.

>> No.9707279

Forgot to add - a fake Nomos will be identical to the Rodina, since they are often make in the same factories. The only difference is the text on the watch-face.

I go pretty casual with it, though it's deliberately matched with personal style.

Try cheapestnatostraps.com (20mm) or ebay. Stick with leather, nylon looks bad on these. Maybe cut off the weird extra bit of strap they come with.

Alright my friend, I would steer clear of Nixon, hey are cheaply made but don't have the price to match. You need to decide if you want a Quartz or mechanical, if you don't know the difference Google it. I would strongly reccomend seiko and orient in your price range, go onto a website and browse there selections, I would reccomend longislandwatch.com, as with any purchase I would pull the trigger straight away, wait a few days then do it. yeah, don't do this.

if you start with a cheap watch

you won't like watches

ou'll assume all watches are like invicta, or seiko 5 and will not see the "point" of a credor minute repeater

because you will never had even established the fact that in your mind watches could be nicer than a seiko 5

start off with buying a luxury watch

it will be a lot of effort and hassle worrying about walking down the bad section of LA, worrying about servicing every few years, and a watch winder

THEN

pick up a MIDRANGE watch

something you don't need to service because...why bother

and something you don't care about losing

Or do you mean for traveling or something? Just pick one for your trip and wear it, it's better to just pack light. Having an expensive watch in your checked baggage is just asking for some TSA ape to decide it might be a terror threat and keep it just in case.

Can you guys tell me something?

you guys just sit there and go "should i get a seiko 5 field watch, a monster, or a 007/009 diver"

like there are no upgrades over that watch

you guys just parrot lies about seiko 007 divers like good value/inhouse movt for little money

but if you really want a diver why not get a mainline 6r15 diver?

its actually an inhouse hacking movement that is a good value for the money

the 7s26 malaysian movt nonsense you guys are trading back and forth are the low end knockoffs

year in and year out it's just disposable nonsense with teens

What the fuck are you going on about? Yes, the 7S26 is a basic low end movement but there is nothing knockoff about it. It was designed and built in-house by Seiko almost 20 years ago. Also your precious 6R15 is just a modified 7S26 and not a 100% new design. Look it up, people of done teardown comparisons of the two.
