I'm looking to pick up a pair of chelsea boots, what's /fa/'s verdict on the best pair under $100? Also chelsea insp. thread I guess.

>> No.9692392

Chelsea boots are better constructed when it's one piece. As in, under the elastic, there is no seam. There literally is a difference between brands. If you don't believe that, why be interested in fashion? Why not just buy your clothes at target or walmart?

Anyone buying $100 boots is obviously not looking for a lifetime investment you fucking idiot. That price point is perfect for trying out a style before investing more into it, chances are OP won't even like chelsea boots as they're pretty hard to pull off.

Dropping serious money on something you might not even like is retarded.

If you've never worn Chelseas before and are about to start experimenting with the style, don't listen to people telling you to cop a 600 dollar pair of boots that you may not even like.

Albeit you may have money to blow. I'm a bit of a jew when it comes to money, even if I have shit tons of it I don't want to spend a lot if I'm uncertain.

Cop a 90 dollar pair or something from a fast fashion outlet, make sure they don't look - too - tacky since it could influence your perception of the style, and then rock them with how they're meant to be worn.

Dress with a slim/skinny silhouette and solid, dark and neutral colors. Nothing too loud to start off with.

I'm sure you'll like it, if you're happy after a couple months, drop money on an actual nice pair.

Will it's true that it would be nice to cop a 600+ dollar pair to start out with, and experience that incredible feeling of designer quality, imagine if the OP ends up hating the style and is stuck with a pair of boots that are worth more than a minimum wage paycheck.

Like I said, if s/he has the money to spend and doesn't care, by all means, go for some Saint Laurent Paris, but if they don't want the former to happen, it's okay to cop a fast fashion outlet's knockoffs.

>> No.9692704

>>9692699
>>9692687
Oh, well yes you can always do that too. Wear a fit and try them on a store.

I was assuming OP was interested in actually buying them for trial, though. In which case, I advice not entering in with a designer pair to start off with.

It's okay to cop fast fashion if you cant fucking afford anything else.

>> No.9692709

Of course you can always resell those designer boots. I doubt you'll get all your money back though.

Like I said, I don't like wasting money, and I doubt OP does either. Just my two cents speaking from experience.
