Pretty much all the time except for running/gym

Going out with friends, groceries, walking around the area, coffee, going out to eat etc.
I know it's expensive but I mean from looks alone is it okay for those type of activities without seeming like a showoff/tryhard? Don't want to draw too much attention either, negative or otherwise(had a buddy who wore a big rolex skydweller and was mugged not too long ago)

Also long shot but if anyone has one or something similar what is the durability like on them? They look really delicate so I would be a bit afraid of wearing it while drunk

I vote yes. longines are good quality pieces and their inhouse modified chronograph movements are really well done. 2200 isn't an unreasonable price for a modified valjoux chronograph and considering the overall great level of finish on both the externals and on the movement I'd say if you like the watch it's well worth the price.

>> No.9550542

>>9550421
As /g/man said it is not at all a bad option, specially by the fact that, thanks to its modifed modules, this watch is capable of sporting some serious bang-for-the-money complications.

Few comments though. First, the moon disc is a proper moonphase display so it will make a full revolution every 29 1/2 days, not every 24 hours.

Second, don't buy it before you try it on your very wrist, as Longines have shown a recent tendency towards bigger watches and you may feel the size to big for you, even if the website says it's smaller it could look bigger.

Third, try to find a big departmen store that carries the brand and figure out when are they going to put their jewelry department on sale to get a better deal OR walk into a proper jewelry and ask directly if they can offer you a discount as well, both way are great to save some shekels.

If you do get it, please come back and post pics and impressions of it, I'll love to read them.

That's better. IMHO, even if the downsizing of the crown is a valid reason, not being able to manually wind your watch is just bad movement developpment. It totally fucks with accurancy during the first working hours of the watch (unless you feel like runnig the marathon every time you adjust it after having stopped) thus, rendering unreliable.

Hi m8. I would advice you to step away from the grey market for now. If that obvious fake piece of shit watch could have fool'd you, as you say, it's clear that you still don't have the suffice knowledge to buy watches without risking being decieved by a dishonest seller.
It may sounds harsh, but you really need to study way, way more before buying anything that doesn't come from an AD.

Sadly, there are lots of fakes (most of them ugly and badly made, thankfully) from what you categorize as "obscure" brands. I have handled a fake Lange irl, and I have seen fake JLC, VC, Zenith's and lot more advertised on the web, even a Vianney Halter fake as well, and he is an independent watchmaker that almost no one knows outside the watch community.

The real thing that really made me change course, though, is that my longtime girlfriend's parents both have net worths of at least a few million each and I can't be some poor codefag if I expect to give her anything close to the quality of life she's used to. such is the life of a poorfag who managed to snag a super rich girl without even realizing it until a few months in.

How does this work?
I'm thinking about joining the danish school of watch making (we only have one school in Denmark which trains this).
But my ambition is larger than simply repairing watches all day and I'd like to work in a larger corporation (such as the Swatch group).
Do I need to take extra courses such as design and economy besides watch making?

Don't know if you actually know any of this stuff, but what is your plan?

then these 16 y/o do a 4 year apprenticeship internally at the company, so they know all about the company allready

I've talked with a few Rolex and Omega store owners, and they said my knowledge on watches were greater than their usual customers, and I have done quite alot of work and re-search. As for the French part, that could might be a problem, but my German is great so I hope it'll be okay.

I really hate the whole bauhaus minimalism fad but I kind of see where you're coming from. No-date watches are nice because you don't have to worry about another thing to set when you put on a different watch and you don't have to worry about setting the time correctly by a.m/p.m.
there are plenty of watches that manage to capture the "minimalist" vibe without being tryhard reddit memewatches like instrmt, skagen, or mvmt. even ones with day/date complications.
