Personally, I really like Jack Purcells. I bought them a year and a half ago when I didn't know shit, and they have really grown on me. I am thinking of copping the old leather ones since the quality is so much better.

I don't particularly like them. I hate the leather adidas uses, and the shape is way too bulbous for how most people are styling them (black skinny jeans). I think they'd work best with cropped pants, wide or tapered, or just wide pants that break over the shoes.

I have the NEWER canvas ones.
They are uncomfortable, and the insole blocked airflow so I had to cut it up. I mean, they are still fine for the price but you know, they really aren't comfy and quality is on par with normal converse. You can get the old pair from Zelenshoes still, so I'd check there.

That being said, the newer leather ones are shit so I'd avoid those and get the canvas. Otherwise, it's really up to you.

I really like the newer model -- I don't like the tongue on the older models. But I'll definitely get the canvas ones. I have some canvas Chucks in the high top flavor and they're pretty comfy for me, so I doubt I'll have a problem with the Jack Purcells.

I wish these brands wouldn't feel the need to take a simple, classic thing and ruin it for the sake of novelty.

it looks ok, affordable, and readily available. even if you loathe them over time it isn't a huge loss.

OP here. Copped some white whitlocks the other day. Had to return some Vans and could only exchange them. They're slightly beige rather than completely white. I prefer the silhouette more in comparison to the SS'. No contrasting accents or visible branding (except for a small beige vans tag at the rear). Not overly stressed about the quality of the leather. It'll be interesting to see what they look after they discolor/yellow with wear. Constructive criticism/opinions?
