test for color-fastness between the leather and the paint. you could do this in small amounts on the inside lining, just to see if the paint adheres well and retains its color.

once you have an appropriate paint, wrap parts of the shoe you don't want affected in painters tape or gauze or something like that

lay down some cardboard or parchment on the floor and do some test flings and drips to practice getting a satisfactory result. once you've got that down, put your wrapped shoes on the parchment and go to town.

make sure to wear clothes and shoes you don't care about and u mite want a painter's smock or a kitchen apron.

let the paint on the shoes dry. then spray a few coats of clear fixative over them. let each coat dry before applying the next.

It's pretty simple!
I bought four bottles of pic related, and filled a bucket with three of them, no water added.
I then let it rest in it for aprox five hours or so (turning the jacket around every now and then) But it was still really blue. A lighter shade but no where near white. So i decided to wash it in the washingmashine with half a bottle of Danclorix added where you usually put the powder/gel. I did this 2 times, but i still wasnt pleased. I put it back in the bucket and left it there for over a day (moving the jacket every now and then again) till it looked that way.
I washed it three times, but there is still a slight chlorine smell in it. Maybe it takes another day al fresco (wtf dict.cc?) till that is gone.
I don't know if the washing maschine part was necessary in the aftermath, since it didnt change the shade all to much, but maybe it loosened the molecules, haha, no idea.
Oh, and it seems like the bleach works best around the first inch above the liquidlevel. Seems like it needs Oxygen to react, but I'm no chemist.

The stitching around the bottonholes is still slightly blue, but thats no big deal for me.

The blue circle is oil paint. It doesn't stick as well as acrylic which is how I got the nice washed look.

thingking of making a really simple japanese harcore tribute jacket. fewer bands, and loads of studs.

my backpack is kinda a combination of both of yours. wrote loads of shit on it when i was in school, now its full of bands i dont even listen to anymore. the zipper broke a few years back, so replaced it with one from another bag (already trashed). just cut it out and sewn it over the old zipper, and then patched it up a bit around it to make it a bit stronger.
looks terrible, but can't really part with it.

>> No.9556831

>>9527120
Use an embroidery hoop to prevent the fabric from puckering to complete shit. This step can really help to make it look more polished and miles better so long as your stitches are decent. Learning various stitch types (e.g. chain stitch, straight stitch, satin stitch etc) and experimenting with them can help with creating the look you're after. be prepared to sacrifice a lot of time for this.
