That depends on how colorful the rest of the room is. If it's just muted colors, browns, and black/white then his bedspread should be bright as fuck. Most beds are central to the room they're in, so it's important for them to kick ass.

invest in actual art. even if its just signed and numbered prints. lots of online stores for this-exhibition a , the outsiders, etc. only posters that look good are original event and travel posters from 1960s.

Check out Society6 for posters.

Buy simple white furniture, if you buy black furniture you will have to dust it often because it is much more visible.

Buy some simple frames to put your posters in and find a place to have them actually professionally framed.

Don't invest too heavily in things, this is just an apartment not your final permanent residence. Go minimal.

i somewhat prefer less pillow-y sleeping surfaces to begin with so there's that. you can acclimate better than you may think if you're used to a pillow top mattress.

IKEA loft beds are bullshit, I purchased one second hand and it shakes like a motherfucker.

I wouldn't recommend IKEA to anyone looking for something to sleep on. Their chairs and kitchen shit are fine, but fuck their beds.

Think a futon would look dope like in a corner somewere @ as a backup for if anyone needs to sleep over.

don't wanna know how many times i got m8's over and the 1 needs to sleep on the floor with a blanket as groundcover.

OP get some plants and some art/framed posters for the walls.

Get some books and shelving. Get some lamps so you don't need to have the ceiling lights on all the time. Get some candles or incense to smell nice (but this isn't a replacement for cleaning).

Get a nice wardrobe, i'm currently waiting for a new one to be made/painted to replace my shit tier one i scrawled over as a child.

What flooring do you have? Is there much natural light? Is it warm?

>>9503621
this is nice

>>9503644
but... a napkin holder?

>>9508336
i have a similar bed frame to this, but er, it's varnished and whatnot (and folds into a very low sofa if you like. You really do want at least a small gap under your mattress though.

I think mine is this one, but i have two mattresses on it.

i mean it's just not something i could ever see myself buying, and i love kitchen stuff

do you leave it out all the time? or just when guests are over? or just at dinner?

how many napkins do you go through?

do you get different designs, or just plain ones?

are you female?

are you middle aged?

I mean my mum tends to have napkins around, but i've not come across anyone around my age who has napkins, let alone in a napkin holder. I'm just baffled.
