How would I go about giving regular black authentic vans this overwashed look?

Soak them in water, leave them outside in the sun for two or three days. Through them in the wash. Ta da.

1: buy white vans, black paint, and a bucket
2: combine black paint and water in bucket
3: toss vans in bucket
4: let soak overnight
5: remove vans and rinse thoroughly

done

Is this legit? Straight bleach, no water?

>> No.9455300

>>9453043
I'd avoid using chlorine to remove the dye.

Go with the simplest solution:
>bucket o' water
>laundry detergent (with or without bleach, it depends on how much dye loss you want)
>soak overnight
>let the thing air dry outside, preferably in the sun

>> No.9455305

>>9455300
Jesus Christ, I'm contradicting myself here. Sorry.

Chlorine and bleach will weaken the cotton fibers of the shoes. Especially if you're just leaving them soaking in the stuff.

Just use regular laundry detergent.

He's talking about the midsole thing I think its called, usually vans midsoles are white

>> No.9455631

>>9453043
Get them wet and leave them in the sun for a few days. Duplicating the weathered midsole will be harder though. Not really sure how you would do that.
