Bought a few things from J.Press York St. Great designs and fit, but truly shit quality. The tie seams unstiched, my pants button fell off before the first week ended and the seat seam ripped after a few months wear. To give you an idea, H&M things has lasted longer without issues.

It leads me to believe that people who actually think this style is faked or mimicked are really just poor or working class. Prep is so common in the Northeast, you rarely see anything far from it unless you're in poorer areas of a state.

Yeah as someone who also grew up in CT, and even got the whole prep school experience its completely true that prep is omnipresent in the north east, however a lot of it is shitty frat core. or plebs who just shop at j crew because they where told too. Some true nice prep as well. However preppy is more of a life style thsn it is exclusively a style, its hard to explain.
