Two years ago I moved to an area that is warm most of the year and I had to abandon all of my quality knits and coats. It sucked. I dressed in black jeans and shorts with boring t-shirts and running shoes for a year. Finally I decided to actually devote some of my income and time to dressing well and not looking like an embarrassing pleb next to my qt gf. I researched different shirts and shorts that I felt were my style, but not normally wearable in the heat. I spent maybe $800 on t-shirts with interesting cuts, and things that I could wear during the summer, like hats and backpacks and sandals. I took a bunch of shirts and shorts to my qt gf's uncle who does patterns for wedding dresses. He copied the patterns of the new clothes I bought and helped me sew some great new pieces using lighter weight fabrics. Now I look better than everyone else year round.

The trick is figuring out what colors look good with your skin tone/complexion. You're going to have a lot more skin showing in the heat, so try to find fabrics and colors that compliment your skin and don't make you look gross. And don't wear all black. If you're into the monochrome dark look (I was raised with it. My parents hated color and dressed me in timeless quality pieces. For a 7 year old. idiots) you can still achieve a similar look using greys and off whites with muted colors as accents. Just figure out your style and mold it to fit the weather you're in. Or just go shopping. If you have strong style and a good eye, you'll pick up pieces that you like and they'll naturally look good together.

Light fabrics like linen, work a lot more with color and patterns than texture and silhouette.
Basically you can't gothninja or memeochrome which is why /fa/ doesn't know shit about it.
