Why? have you had any bad experiences with them? From what I understand, fragrancenet is one of the only online discounted sellers you can consistently trust. I've order a handful of different bottles from them, and they've all been legit.

On the front page they put too many "good stuff"
>Customer reviews about the site
>All the types of payment they take
>How "secure" the site is, "100% safe and guaranteed"
>"Over 10 million orders shipped"
It just sets off a few red flags for me, and apparently they have shit customer service and people have said they've gotten used or old products. Also one day they gave me a coupon for being on the mailing list and it didn't even work (copy-pasted it)

I just don't want to take the risk. I try to buy stuff from official places like the maker of the scent or an actual store.

Also, Mont Blanc Legend is like $13 for a small bottle. It has no spray though.

If by samples you mean completely free and shipped to you then you won't find anything. Samples and vials run at about $7-$13 online, but at a lot of department stores and Sephora, they give you free samples after you make a purchase.
Sephora.com will give you 3 free samples with any purchase, but only on what they're offering, which is usually newer scents or promotions

Worst thing that's happened so far was on a tester bottle that I got for cheap from them, there was a pretty big scratch on the back of the bottle. thanks. just interested in a woman's perception of cologne. as a straight male, i prefer women's perfume. i only smell alcohol in men's cologne, to the point that it overpowers the subtleties in the fragrance.

i wear what i do because /i/ like the way it smells, but wondering if there's a more objective stance on women's perception towards men's cologne. meaning, maybe there's a reason men's cologne smells the way it does.

Oh, so do you wear fragrances targeted towards women? I don't mind it and to be honest I wouldn't pick it if I smelt it on a man. From what I've gathered there are heaps of fragrances that don't smell like a flower vomited on you and are a bit more "neutral".

There is cologne I don't like (I don't like really spicy onces) but as long as he doesn't bathe in it it wouldn't turn me off a guy.

yep. i mostly wear women's fragrance. they're much subtler, i think.

i wear tf's black orchid (but this is more unisex, though most places carry it in women's section). in general, i feel tf's fragrances are slightly darker, more ominous, and therefore more unisex. it lacks what i think of when i think of men's cologne, while being perfectly ambiguous and open to sex. this is the type of 'masculine' fragrance i'm open to. because it's subtle, and rich, without having to resort to overpowering alcohol.

but lately i've been wearing midnight romance exclusively. it's light and definitely fruity, but it works well on my skin. silliage is medium, and the come down is very relaxed and warm.

versace's bright crystal is another favourite. so sweet and lovely.

i'm a pretty masculine guy and athletic guy, so the way i carry myself probably allows me to get away with it.

i should say, i don't wear deodorant/other fragrances, so these perfumes interact with my own body odour. it's different. women have more acidic skin.

anyways, just kinda felt like journaling a bit

like I said, don't wanna be labeled a shill
also note I hate the names. Don't buy based off of the names. But
I used to use Phoenix. That one was a pretty good neutral spray. Not really sure what the scent was supposed to be of but it was ok, smelled clean. Then I tried Essence which was a little "spicier"? Not sure the scent again but definitely different than Phoenix. Now I use "Anarchy" and that one I get complimented on all the time. It smells like vanilla, I think.

I spray a bit on my body like less than a second burst on arm pits, less than a second on chest, and then nape of neck. I wear an undershirt and a button down for work. I'll spray the same locations for the same amount of time on my over shirt. A can lasts me about half a month like this and I know that applying it like this people can definitely still smell it if their within two feet of me or so after about five hours even if I'm smoking. If I'm not smoking then you can smell it from farther away.

So yah that's my two cents on that shit. Anarchy is the best, people never expect it to be axe. Hate the names, not a fan of the company but can't fight something that works. Oh and just try them in the store too, it doesn't matter.

I also tried l'eau d'issey and Shalimar by Guerlain and I loved them. I tried Jean patou joy and liked it but I felt like I was going to sneeze the whole time. I tried Tom Fords black orchard and neroli portaging and hated them both. I tried miss dior Cherie and I though it had a gross sickly sweet smell. Which fragrance should I try next?

Terre de Hermes is very strong and smells like oranges, good scent.
L Homme YSL is a nice formal scent, pretty sweet, most people recommend the La Nuit version though.
Nautica Voyage is a nice, cheap, everyday cologne, can't go wrong with this one.
Burberry Brit smells like Christmas and is a very good winter cologne, pretty sweet.
Versace Eau Fraiche probably my favorite, but this is for SUMMER ONLY highly recommend you smell it!

Where do you guys spray your cologne and how many?
I want a subtle, non-powerful scent so I just do 1 spray on my chest.
Would more than 1 spray kill the subtlety?

Also I noticed women spray on a lot more than me and it "overpowers" my scent so I can only smell theirs and not mine. Is there a way to deal with this?

4 total is excessive for some fragrances, and for some 4 is not enough.

Depends on potency (edt, edp) and what type of fragrance it is. Lighter, fresh, citrusy, aquatics: all of these can probably handle more sprays than thick, heavy, woodsy, spicy ones.

I got it in today, so I will get to wear it for New Years Eve! If you sniff it from the vaporizer it smells like a women's perfume, when it opens it's really fresh but it quickly turns into a very strict spicy smell. This then changes to a kind of sweet, tarmaccy/rubbery smell that's extremely interesting. When these fireworks are over a luxurious, very elegant mostly smooth sweet is left. I'm very surprised by this, since it was €15 for 30ml. Amazing

Yes, then in that case, definitely try Bleu de Chanel. Here's a little tip by the way:

Fragrances smell entirely different on paper than they do on your skin. You have to try them on your skin to get the actual scent. Different people's bodies react differently to certain fragrances. Some fragrances smell amazing on some people, and horrible on others.

I'm not the anon you replied to, but when I wear Avant Garde i usually spray 1x on each wrist, and 1x each side of neck, just below the ear. My gf loves the way this stuff smells.

Like I said in my 2nd post >>9269607 I personally think that it has a very christmas-y vibe to it, due to the nutmeg and spice notes I suppose. That being said, I prob will stop wearing it in a few more weeks, because I liked being able to associate the scent with the holidays, wear it to holiday gatherings, etc..

Idiot. Don't wear fragrance. Are you serious? I'm in my first year of OMFS residency and it was pretty heavily stressed that we should avoid it. No need to impress anyone. they're fun to layer with other scents but on their own I find them boring.

I found Snow to be largely ozonic and smelled a bit like dirt. Like what a dirty big snow bank smells like in the suburbs once the ice starts to melt around 3° C. I can't identify what made it smell so cold, but it was a more artificial cold - like an air conditioned office or an empty fridge than of actual wintertime. I had really high hopes about this because I wanted to gift it to my younger sister, who has never experienced snow.

Salt Air smells like skin after the beach. There's a bit of light fruit (very slight like fruit-infused water - honeydew melon?) and some kind of powdery floral but it soon becomes a very warm (amberish almost?) and reminiscent of the saltiness you can almost taste on your skin after spending hours in the ocean on a sunny day.

Neither is really that unisex.

this is one of those fragrances that definitely smells good, and is appealing to 98% of females/males, and will make you stand out among other men that don't wear any fragrance at all, but it is pretty commonly used (because it is good smelling and accessible) so it won't make you stand out when it comes to have a unique scent. us dweeblords that post on /fa/ like more artisanal and obscure scents, because it makes us smell more unique and years down the road when our ex's smell the scent somewhere, they'll instantly be reminded of us. with fragrances like 1 million, so many other men wear it, that it probably won't leave a lasting impression like other fragrances.

that is why /fa/ likes to hate on it

I tried some at a store and personally I thought that it was awfully sweet for a male scent, smelled a lot like one of those vanilla little tree air fresheners that has sort of lost its strength after being left in a hot car for a while. A&F fierce is undeniably an attractive scent, and if you live anywhere other than America, you will be fine wearing this, until you can upgrade to something more refined.

If you live in America, people won't dislike the scent, but they will think you are immature/stuck in the past wearing highschool/middleschool tier teenager cologne.
