Every fashion forum does.

mfa = mancore (manly things like leather, denim, and boots)
/r/streetwear = thrifted polo windbreakers, khaki chinos and footlocker nikes
styleforum = dadcore
/fa/ = dressed by the internet (apc, acne, cp, stan smiths, rick, raf etc.)
sufu = nxtlvl
caretags, sz = cuck-core

She looked at me and smiled widely, and such a wide smile on her narrow face might have looked goofy were it not for the unimpeachable elegant green in her eyes. She smiled with all the delight of a kid on Christmas morning and said, “Y’all smoke to enjoy it. I smoke to die.

i've only read those 2 books but they're almost identical - two edgy teens who love books and smoking fall in love, then one of them dies before their relationship goes anywhere

hemingway's book is very interesting, at least to me
it's about a writer and his wife honeymooning in europe, mainly france spain and italy i think, and then they both fall in love with a separate woman
the book touches on adultery and androgyny and a bit on homosexuality
i thought it was amazing

metamorphosis has the main character turn into a cockroach so you were close. when you read that make sure to keep track of his decisions and also pay attention to the sister

oh also Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man is a great book, i think by james young
i actually never finished it, by far the hardest book i've tried to read

Kerouac can't write for shit, he has like 10 amazing paragraphs in each novel, the rest is shit. I mean, you should read On The Road just for how important it was, and it might make you all excited about leaving your boring high-school life, but really saying Kerouac was a great writer or an amazing person is objectively wrong (yes).

There are lots of authors, like too many. Read Carver, DFW (his essays are way better than his fiction), the most famous Pynchon, Joyce, Baldwin, IDK.

I feel Kerouac and Hemingway are so acclaimed just because they are kind of different in a Tarantino-esque kind of way, just shock value, they get old fast.

You might want to start with the Greeks tho

i've read all the books on that list

they're all good apart from 'fear and loathing' which is just drivel. could also probably skip 'of mice and men', 'the great gatsby', 'american psycho', 'fahrenheit 451' and 'huckleberry finn' if u want. as they're deffo the weaker books on there

Great Shark Hunt and Hell's Angels are way better than Fear and Loathing, probably on the list cause it's the most famous Thompson book, after all it says "starter kit"
