Liking fashion is hardly bourgeois of itself. There are plenty of ways to enjoy material culture that at the very least don't replicate capitalist forms, at the most, are ardently anti-capitalist. We don't all see the same potentials coming down the runway. In any case, on a very basic level, corporeal life has an aesthetic component and it would be very foolish for dissenting bodies to disengage with this reality just because the networks that are associated with it are primarily subsumed under capitalist logic. Moreover, I think its important to move away from past struggles that were extremely homogenizing in image participation. Everyone should be encouraged to display new alterities that cannot be fed back into centering masses of the fashion-industrial complexes.
