I hate the fucking urban hipsters are hijacking this shit. I've been to the top of the fucking Zugspitze, where the fuck have they been? The top of their fucking apartment complex? I split wood in FUCKING SWITZERLAND these assholes have never used an axe. I doubt 90% of them have ever spent an honest to god night in the woods.

So yeah, I love this style because it looks good and reflects me as a person and the things I like, but I hate that a bunch of assclowns are taking it over.

I kind of agree with this. I've been on month-long trips in the wild in northern BC, the Yukon, Alaska, and dress like any other streetwear ass clown. I'd never go near the style of pic related just because I think it looks so "fake"; I don't know if it's just me, but most of the people I've come across who style themselves as a "lumbersexual" have never even spent a night out. Obviously I feel your clothes don't have to perfectly mirror your life, but for a style so based upon "authenticity" and "masculinity" and shit, most of the people I've met that do go for this style don't do it justice.

i was just starting out trying to learn how to dress better. i knew i dressed like shit but didnt know where to start so i just lurked menswear forums and 90% of the inspo at that time was workwear. if it had been gothninja i probably wouldve ended up like that with similarly disastrous results.

Workwear is 'manly'. It will not fade in a few years. It's nostalgic and nods to the man's-men of the 20th century, and it's goal is to make men look timeless. I grew up on a farm, but I was always a city kid at heart, but this style really works for me.

Protip: no beard, and no tattoos. Treat it almost like a mix between Lumberjack and Prep (women still like men that 'dress up' a bit.
