Large companies like CP buy their materials in bulk and the grade of leather they use in their shoes isn't some top of the line rarity. They don't pay what you would at a leather/fabric store.

by the way these are not CP ripoffs, in australia there have been tonnes of variations of this shoe because lots of school uniforms mostly permitting that if shoe is black and leather its ok. So the skate shoe companies in aus have been putting these out forever and chain stores quickly followed, I had a similar pair like 7 years ago.

what you guys should realize is that this design of shoe is not special or trademarked by anyone, it's a plain archetypal tennis shoe, like a barebones vanilla lowtop sneaker. at the very core, CPs just made this shoe out of fancy leather and typed numbers on it, stan smiths poked some holes and added a suede panel on the heel, converse are these with a rubber toe cap
