it can work, but military garments don't really lend themselves to fashion because they're built for layering and mobility

pic related for example, the parka doesn't have a particularly great silhouette even though it fits properly

Milsurp as a fashion item can be done a couple ways. You can wear the pieces unmolested as a statement, or you can dust off those sewing skills and make/modify an interesting and unique garment. Milsurp boots are obviously great in some cases, like the classic McRae jungle boots or the old FFL jump boots.

Knoch would probably have some solid insight about milsurp fashion, but I haven't seen him post in a few days. Here's his tumblr, http://herrurst.tumblr.com/ , there are loads of examples.

Yeah, the NDC was obviously washed several times before I got it. Also, I don't own any Vegetato, are you perhaps referring to the far upper-right uniform? That's actually Finnish M/05 and I love it dearly.

The very bottom-right (grey jacket) is a Russian Arktika Mabuta, created for Soviet VDV forces in case the Cold War escalated and moved to a European front, extremely hard to find despite it's overall simplicity, on the outside at least. The inside has an internal Makarov holster with several other pockets and the left sleeve has a special watch / compass holder that protects it from the cold.

The third from the left at the top is my Czech M85 parka, these guys are getting much harder to find nowadays but they used to be like $20 a pop. A lot of guys on /k/ equate it to being the "fedora of milsurp" but I see it as the quintessential piece of inexpensive winter gear, especially with that fake fur liner.

How much does it run over there? Last set I saw was for the winter cut and the guy on eBay wanted like $500, iirc.

Depends on the size mostly. Can range from 100 to 400 € for complete sets

I got my brown TTsKO pants and jacket in size 44 for 60€ sadly without the jacket liner and collar

I found the parka on the second row fourth column, the night desert camo, for $9.99 at a Savers yesterday but it was too big for me ;_;

It was mint too.

That's why you buy it anyways and sell it on eBay for $50 so you can buy more stuff.

Some of the tripfags on /k/ move through like $200 worth of surplus a month just from buying and selling.

Can't believe this thread is still here.

Swedish M/90, you can buy "factory surplus" right here, just be sure to get your size right: https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/swedish-m90-field-jacket-surplus/29840

Good luck finding any real ones or any of their derivatives without paying out the ass. It's almost as hard to come by as M/05.

I remember you used to suggest a couple pairs of surplus or replica boots that were available online, I think they were US style, but I don't remember.

Any chance you might remember what I am talking about?

few rules
1. no patches or rank indicators other than a flag maybe
2. nothing currently used by your country, for example assuming your American your op image would be ok >>9176670 would not
3. only have 1 camo piece on at a time

this just keeps the stolen valor types away.

my insomias kicking in tonight so i might make an infographic an post it here

Unless you are absolutely bent on surplus one Brandit does repros in different colors of the BW parka.
Or you could dye it with only little coloring if you want to keep the flecktarn pattern.

>> No.9184841

>>9184804
Brandit is overpriced.
Considering it's ripping off milsurp which is already dirt cheap, it's FUCKING overpriced.

>> No.9184857

True, but just saying there are options
The whole idea of making repros of something readily available surplus is so retarded because they can't match the quality or the price.
