go to various cheapo shops, walmart, target, or any kind of men's work clothing shop and look through the work boots. you can often find a really nice looking pair for <$40.

i'd post these black walmart boots i copped years ago but then i'd have to go downstairs. but they're really nice.

>> No.9168950

They're more than likely true to size. Boots shouldn't be too tight, and won't get much roomier when broken in if a size too small so just get a size 9. I only really ever have to size down in sneakers.
Don't get those though. They look like complete shit.

wolverine 1000 miles are pretty good.

if you want boots to last over 3 years you need to be looking at full grain leather and quality welts and soles, which should run you ~230 and up.

I should add bean boots are the exception since they are a simple design that are very function over form, they do the job of boots well (aside from supporting your ankle) but look like shit

no need for them to last long, I will be buying another pair the next season. Just want them to be quite warm so I don't die on the streets in the winter (-15*C would be what weather I need these for).

Tried these on at Macy's. Looking for boots for school in the winter that look decent. When its really shit outside (michiganfag) I'll wear my work boots but if its not that bad I'd like a lighter less bulky boot. Would they be worth getting or will the snow/salt just destroy them instantly? Open to suggestions

Had these for quite a while now, they're completely waterproof, come of to slightly above my ankle, and have really, really good traction. They show almost no sign of wear aside from being easier to get on and off.

How intense of a winter are we talking? Icy streets and deep snow? Or just a bit snowy here and there?

You will look like an idiot if you're slipping all the time. Get some insulated boots with good treads from an outdoor shop; you can usually find some that look half decent.

They're not /fa/, but I've used these boots for a couple years now for cold days in Montreal; my feet sweat they're so warm.

I think where I live there is the same kind of winter as in Montreal, so I do have to look for something warm and with a sole that won't try to kill me on ice. I need some casual winter boots, but good looking. I've had air force 's last winter but these are too big and not really secured from slipping so I'll be selling those and need something less 'swaggy' but still looking good. And I have found those wolverines for about $50 which is kinda good price considering that'd half the money I get from AF.
Just needed to check if these are suitable for winter.

>> No.9171797

They were actually extremely small on me they didn't have a size 12 or wides. If they fit I would have bought them probably.

>> No.9172026

>>9171782
I mean whatever you think is practical - those wolverines look like they'd be alright on ice/snow new but the sole will likely wear out fast.

Cop'd these weird things on sale for about 3rd the price (AFAIK the're from AW12) but really have no idea so far as to how to pull it off. I guess slim raw denim and n3b style coat could work as well, what do you think fa?

I recently copped Chippwea 6" work boots in dark brown for $100 during Amazon's Cyber Week sale, which is half their normal price. If you can find anything similar, I think Chippewas are the absolute best option in the price range you're going for.

If you have the money though, shelling out the hard cash for a pair of Chippewa Service Boots or Red Wings whatever the fuck you want is the definitely worth it. $300 now, but you may never have to buy another pair of boots. Consider it. But like I said, I too, am impoverished, and the $100 Chippewas were my best bet.
