how much do you consider a designer/brands aesthetic vision before purchasing pieces in certain sizes? i have considered silent a staple in my wardrobe for a while now, mainly for the easy relaxed basics. this season is cut noticeably smaller than past ones though, and when i emailed the damir doma store they said i should go large in all jerseys/sweatshirts because i'm 6'3 and skinny, when i have previously gone medium. i noticed most retailers stuck with the usual medium and i went with that. now the stuff i have from this season fits great from this season but is noticeably smaller, even though it looks as if the models on the damir doma website also got smaller, making it appear the same as previous seasons. i guess what i'm trying to say is it feels like a lack of cohesiveness in my wardrobe. a good example of this is rick cause of his inconsistent sizing. if you usually go small in rick, do you just stick with small or base it off the season/individual piece? i'm obviously making this thread for a specific reason but it would be interesting to get a discussion going on how much you mold your own vision on to clothes/go for the specific look intentioned

didn't mean to write "from this season" twice in one sentance oops

I wish there was a more unified sizing system where I can just pick "my" size and however a piece is intended to fit me, it will fit me. However designers design for different body types, switch it up from season to season, and obviously do not have to go through any sort of sizing standards in order to have their garments sold. For the most part I do not think it is a very fun use of my time trying to figure out if things will fit me, which makes getting good deals online somewhat of a crapshoot unless I find that particular piece in a boutique and I'm able to try it on.

yeah i feel you. just wish i wasn't so obsessive about it. i'm 6'3 with a 37 inch chest and 30 waist so i feel like i'm pretty safe to go medium in most things like the guy i posted from farfetch, but sometimes with stuff like damir and rick the proportions don't turn out the way they are "supposed to"

Unified sizing systems don't work because average sizes change from area
To area, a medium in Texas is going to be bigger than a medium in Asia for example so you'd have to offer say xxxs to xxxL sizes everywhere
Stores collect sizing data from their target consumers and use the data to make forms and bodices hence why the clothes at a store for poor middle aged men would fit differently to clothes for teenagers from Zara or h&m
I get what you're saying but everyone would have to have the same body type for it to work

i feel this, i'm 6'5 and i own a XS pretty green t shirt that still fits, what the fuck's with that? i'm usually a L/XL

atm it's stylish to wear longer length / baggier clothing so i wouldn't worry about anything being too big, unless it's *TOO* big

You will be fine going all mediums trust me

First tell me what the hell a grown man in gay teens clothing is doing in that picture? Was it supposed to be a meme? If so, please, try not to shitpost here. Thank you

Same. Even small can be too large. Most brands don't even manufacture my pants size. Have to get everything tailored.

Hurting myself? What are YOU talking about?
No, I was just trying to keep the shitposting and the memes away from this decent board. It's alright if this was the last time, but keep on doing it, like you did when you posted that picture, and be ashamed of yourself.
Again, thank you.
