calorie deficit is overblown, your body will slow your metabolism and turn you into a narcoleptic slug before you loose more than 15 lbs if all you are doing is eating a deficit. At which point you wont be a a deficit anymore, you will just be cold uncomfortable and burning fewer calories.

lifting can be important, but you can get good tone by doing bodyweight exercises and sprints, the most important thing is to do whatever exercise you are doing until failure.

currently I am eating low kcal with occasional heavy days so 1200-1600 with the occasional 2000-2100 day

So far I lost 25lb since April and have kept it off

my diet is changing but basically it's roti, injera, sticky rice or couscous with a thick spread, tagine, curry or wot either tomato paste based or legume and a small portion of meat

eating in season is hard on the east coast, I don't like having to adjust to the fall produce here I don't like the limited selection or quality

As a result I am mostly focusing on spirulina to incorporate into meal plans in savoury ways along with dates.

Also looking for decent sources of dairy, I found some people in Pennsylvania with good quality goat and camel milk so I hope to make chevre or ayib but really just anything fermented soft cheese is fine

On a subject besides the obvious efforts to stay slim and fit,
I have an absolute obsession with keeping my skin glowing and smooth and my hair thick and shiny, so my diet is very much tailored to that. I don't smoke, and I only drink socially when it would look weird if I didn't. I love to drink, but I don't want it to take a toll on my body, skin, and hair, which it does, so I abstain.
I have a juicer, and I drink about 32 ounces of fresh pressed juices a day. The ingredients vary, but they always include dark greens, beet, carrot, a fuckton of celery, cucumber, tumeric, lemon, and aloe vera. Sometimes I include apple or some other fruit, or tomato.
Then, I also include lots of salads in my day. Protein is a must, especially for hair. And healthy fats are a must for both skin and hair. I eat a lot of fish and seafood, but I also take fish oil supplements every day, plus biotin, marine collagen, and a good multivitamin. Avocados. As often as I can remember (since you have to use them so quickly, I sometimes forget to buy them or forget to use them before they go bad).
Exercise is lots of walking and swimming. I love swimming, although it's getting a bit too cold here for that, even with a heated pool, so I'll probably be skipping the swimming for the next couple months (I have an outdoor pool, if it were indoors it wouldn't be a big deal). So, lots of hiking around in the woods and parks instead. Light strength training, just enough to keep my muscles defined without being a fucking hulk.

I ferment a lot so that explains the injera

Roti is quick and easy to make with some hot water/kneading

Barley couscous and sticky rice are easy to prepare without a pan

I primarily like to steam things on a skillet like the flat breads mention above or balance a splatter guard over a boiling pot of water with the rice in a down turned bowl for an easy to clean meal without too much water/energy use or waste

That and the foods I like to cook go with them so why not.

Dropped out of HS due to complicated circumstances (I was in Europe at that time). Even then, before that I was already feeling disconnected from everything.
