Just scrolled through my facebook feed for the first time in like a month. Saw two posts from girls saying how much they love man buns. I'm from Bumfuck, Texas so two is a lot. Dunno if it's a good thing or a bad thing considering they're grills but the point is, it's really popular.

I think it's actually quite safe from being played out. Here's my reasoning:

To do a manbun, you need one thing, and that's long hair. And that takes a while to grow. In order to do a good manbun, you need to be growing for like a year and a half. Maybe a bit less. A year and a half is a looooooong time, and most of these fuccbois don't have that kind of patience, plus the super trend side will fade out by then. So what I'm hoping is basically it'll be super popular on twitter and tumblr for a while (that much is unavoidable) but not too many plebs will actually do it, compared to the HY and undercut, meaning that it won't get too played out

As a dude with long hair, I can only pray for this

I used to have long hair and never even thought about having it in a bun, used to put it in a pony tail or just leave it hanging loose and in my face.
I would definitely not put it in a bun now if I had long hair now, I'd put in in the pony tail. I think the beard compliments the bun though but beards compliment long hair though in general, gives you the Jesus or Viking look depending on your body.

I like to wear my hair down except when I'm eating or at the office. I don't like to do the man bun that much because I can't a beautifully thick bear to go along with it. Also I live in a beach town so all the guys with man buns are usually dirty ass hippies (I like hippies, but not nasty gutter punks) so having a man bun is associated with them making it hard to pull off as a classy or casual thing.

IMO man buns are always stupid as hell. Do what you want, and some guys probably manage to pull them off in most people's eyes, but I think they're terrible. Beards are also overdone these days, where only some people should be growing them.
