If it's a board, then I'm kinda stumped cos 8 year olds are tiny. Whatever you get, it's gonna be tough cos skating is hard and kids are impatient.

Ok basically it's gonna come down to the kid. I suggest get her something totally middle of the road and normal, except obviously not like an 8". Normal wheels, normal deck (but a bit smaller) and then just choose a rad graphic and tell your neighbour it's a sick board for little kids to start on.

If you want my advice for what an actually good beginner board is, I'd go for Real. If you want a brand even a little kid would know, get birdhouse or element. Or, if you wanna be cute, get her a Girl board
