Regular black laces from the store (not flat basketball laces), the clips I took from an old rain jacket. I don't have to do the laces anymore, just adjust the clip and pump it up. I personally like having the KVAs laced tight since i put my pants over the tongue, I find it too long

If you want them to stay nice you never wear them on a rainy day, you never do any sports in them and you don't walk in dirt in them. If you're just gonna go to school then work your department store job on a nice day wear your nice shoes, rainiy day on your construction job and you're gonna go play soccer with your buddies, wear your beaters.
