Looking to cop some Trainerendors, I have 2 questions:

1) Does anyone know if the olive colourway actually looks good? It looks cool online but I don't think I've ever seen a photo of someone actually wearing them. I'm torn on olive or black.

2) What's their sizing like? I'm a 10.5 in Roshes but 10 in Vans. It would suck balls if I ordered some and they didn't fit obviously.

Imo dark brown Chukkas seem like a versatile article of clothing. W/ demin rolled up and a basic tee to a pair of chino's and oxford. It will look good. Just use common sense y'know

I'm new to fashion. Until now I wore basically shit. My question, should I buy everything new? Shirts, pants, everything full price? Or am I wasting my money? I like the look of new stuff and am tired of the Goodwill game but it costs a lot of money.

Another Q. How much should I spend on each pants, shirts, jacket?

What type of shirt would you wear with the items and colours you can see in this pic?

>> No.8910304

>>8910219
lurk moar. Wear your shit clothes for a while until you really know what you're doing, or atleast more than now.

Because if you go and spent $1000 on clothes today, with this newfound knowledge you just got on /fa/, you're going to realize they are also shit in a few weeks/months when you start to actually know what you're doing.

so lurk moar. Also, if you're buying designer items, check grailed etc, usually the people who own these items take really good care of them so buying used is great. I have a lot of >$300 pieces I copped for <$100, and are basically new.

If you like new stuff buy new stuff, goodwill is really a shot in the dark, you might find a good piece, but 99% of the time, you're going to go home with nothing. If you're playing goodwill you've got to be diligent, know when they put new items on the racks and go often to try and get something worthwhile. [btw I don't do this, way too much effort for nothing]

In terms of pricing, for jeans you're looking at around $100 a pair, shirts [tshirts] can go from shitty $10 that can work sometimes, to $70 for better basics ones, and above $300 and beyond for high fashion. I'd pay around $35 if you want something easy and cheap and simple. Shirts you'll want to pay from $50 - $150 for basics, same with tshirts, price goes up exponentially with quality.

Jackets - this is important. [coming from someone who lives in winter almost constantly [can]] don't cheap out. You don't need many - even 1 is enough. But buy a nice one. $400 is the average price I would say. That's for a variety of jackets too. From skiing parkas to trenches to peacoats, do NOT buy a cheap jacket.

>> No.8910312

>>8910219
unless what you can afford is fast fashion tier (h&m, primark) you hardly ever need to pay full price. wait until some kind of markdown (like, at least 30%?). everything goes on sale and buying retail is usually a ripoff. this means you have to wait a bit to get what you want, but that waiting is valuable time if you're new to fashion. it means you're looking at a lot of stuff and clarifying exactly what it is you want and what you want to dress like

but if you can trade money for time, then sure, buy some stuff at full price. just be aware you're wasting some money for the privilege of having a slightly better stock and things in your hands earlier rather than later.

how much you spend on pants/shirts/jacket depends on your budget, how much time you're willing to search for deals, how large of a closet you want...lots of stuff.

Thanks. I don't have a lot of money, but I am willing to throw down on some decent clothes.

I'm looking at jackets now. I'm not sure if I can spend $400. But I'm in a debate with myself about whether to get an American Giant zip up hoodie and a rain shell ~$200 total or a more mature jacket like a parka. It rains a lot here so I need waterproof. Should I skip on the hoodie and go for the nicer end?

No graphic tee's is a way to help those who are new to /fa/ build a wardrobe. Graphics are fine, but it depends on your style and how you are incorporating the tee into your fit. That being said, it's a helluva lot easier on newcomers to shed them away and learn to feel comfortable in shirts, polo shirts and the like.

When people talk about "graphic tees" they mean what 99% of graphic tees are, which is shitty meme prints on poorly designed/colored/tailored shirts. Which is fine if you're either under the age of 13 or about to commit suicide.
However there are some rare exceptions, graphic tees that look cool. Run it by /fa/ before you wear it, but if its only black and white and the print isnt obviously memey and/or retarded, it could be okay

Hey /fa/ I recently bought a new hat (its 100% acrylic, its the alert watch hat by raised by wolves) and I was wondering how I should take care of it. That is okay, not wearing a belt is pretty common with blue jeans. I only have some black and brown dress belts that I wear with the various suits in my wardrobe and while they look neat with suit trousers, they are too small and thin to fill up the large loops on a pair of jeans. So, when not in the Joseph Abboud or Cianni Cellini suit I'm likely wearing beltless Levi's blue jeans pretty much as shown.
