I personally Loveeee the mesh back, I think it's such a nice touch on the jacket that makes the otherwise uninteresting an featureless back noteworthy. If you get a change to nab it you should, cotton is really nice, as is as the knitted zipper guard. Only complain would be that it's a bit restrictive in the shoulders and there's an interior single-button napoleon pocket (not really a napoleon pocket as it's just above the hem) which is mostly nonfunctional because everything falls out of it, it being a single button vertical pocket.
