a) Briefcase - I'm looking for something with quality, firm yet malleable leather for everyday use. I wear a suit and tie every day so I need a briefcase. It having a leather shoulder strap is a big bonus.

b) Carry-on luggage - either a carried bag or small suitcase - the type that you can take with you on planes. I need this for business trips.

Budget on both items each is up to about 500 Euros. Would prefer to pay less for the carry-on luggage though as it won't get used that often.

The expensive tacpacks are made of 1000 Denier nylon ---- suuuper tough.

Those cheaper ones are made of ~450 Denier nylon ----- nowhere near as rugged.

Also, some of the expensive brands also treat their packs with Dupont waterproofing.
