I can't speak for overall quality as I've only had mine for a year, 3989 brogues. I have noticed the stitching starting to fray and rip within a few months of wearing them.

Comfort is pretty subjective, I've no complaints there. I spent about 2 weeks wearing like 3 pairs of thick socks and wearing them all day inside, cause walking in them at first is murder for your feet.

I like Dr. Martens just for their rugged aesthetic. There are some nicer shoes out there but as a beater shoe they're pretty great. Especially when you can cop em cheap on ebay.

Is there a difference how Made in China/Thailand fit to Made in England ones? I had to size down on the chinese ones.

Man why can't everyone just make shoes same size or at least have more specific measurements depending on the brand. Same size is vastly different with every brand.

I wear dr martens. I have the 1460s and 1925 oxfords. I wear them with black 874 dickies high waters. I mostly wear black shirts and band tees. I have a levis trucker jacket with acouple pins on it and a current 93 patch on the chest.

yes, i think so. i have made in china nappa leather 1460s and made in england oxblood 1490s

the english sole was thicker from the get go (i've worn both of them down a lot) but the chinese napa was still nice. all of the corrected grain leather (the traditional leather of DMs, solovair uses it too) chinese docs feel like shit to me though. i much prefer the feel of the english ones. they will still crease and develop small cracks in the creases if you wear them hard though

i dont knw how much of a premium theyre charging for the english ones nowadays but i think its worth it. i also much preferred the oxblood color on the english 1490s to the cherry color on the chinese ones

I like the look of them and have had a pair of those for three months. Like the other poster said, they get that weird scratchy look.
After three months of continuous wear though, the leather has started coming off from the sole on the inner sides of both boots where the balls of my feet are, stopping them from being water proof.
I like them, but I'm pretty disappointed. I'm going to take them back and see if they can repair them, otherwise I'm going to get my money back.
Docs are meant to last for years, not a few months.

So what's the best fit Doc for skinheadcore? Was thinking either the 1490 or 1919.

I have pic related but without the raised heel and in a non-glossy brown leather. I wear them to work (barback) and around town. They seem to be able to handle roughish conditions pretty well and my feet have always stayed dry and comfortable. I did start using gel inserts though after breaking them in as the sole is sort of hard.

The tag is necessary for getting them on but dont make the mistake of rolling your pants up so high that you can see the tag.

I think they are also more versatile than people give them credit for.
