Does anyone else feel like they have the problem of liking too many different styles of fashion? Maybe fashion isn't my thing because I don't have a set style but I just like all kinds of looks and styles and can't just have a binary set of clothes in my closet. Anyone else feel this way?

kinda feel the same way, but i like to have many choices tbh. i can look like an absolute idiot with a tye dye tank top one day and like an edgy dad the next one. :)

I feel ya, I often wonder if I just had a coherent collection of clothes if I would be happier with how I look rather than just getting whatever I like. I often look at it like so. irl I have lots of interests and things I know about and can speak about and in that sense my style reflects that, many interests and many ideas. idk though.

yeah I'm the same, whenever I think about my wardrobe it doesn't make any coherent sense, but I wouldn't trade it for a bunch of one-style stuff. I feel weird when I look at my ties and then glance down to my high tops.

Fashion is change. You have the perfect mindset for it.

Some people just prefer a stable wardrobe, but there is nothing wrong with hopping around to whatever you feel like.

just do u mayne

I know that feel. I know pretty much exactly what I want to wear (militarycore with gothninja and metalhead inspo, which is already a big compromise) but I'm often tempted to try other things like 80s beachcore, niheicore and hentaininja.
If only all those things were compatible somehow.
pls help me /fa/

i was like this for about a year or more (after i started caring about clothes) and had a lot of different aesthetics to mess around with. i realized that 80% of the time i was gravitating towards one style and the rest were essentially experimenting or playing dress up. sold off anything that couldn't work with the style i was actually wearing the most and am much happier. easier to match pieces and i dont feel like as much a try hard because i have a similar image every day. its also allowing me to develop that comfortable style more with slightly better pieces, experimenting more with fit, etc.

It never was a problem, actually the best looking people have different styles and sets. The only problem is have the money and the creativy to put them all toguether and play with them. A dude who actually only drees in one way its not /fa/.

disagree here. good looking people can pull off many looks, that's true, but changing your whole style a few times a week on a whim isn't /fa/ it's a try hard with escapism issues who dresses to try and become someone else, all the while never having a truly interesting or developed identity themselves

the secret with a stable wardrobe is to think about it the right way. if you have a stable wardrobe that you consider highly fashionable and hate on people who you see mixing it up more or pulling on wide variety of things or being into 'old trends' then you will look bad because your personality will show thru your fit.

if you have a stable wardrobe that you sort of have good feelings about and have a sort of innocent approach to fashion you will probably look amazing.

wise person once told me thing "the more I think about fashion the less I like it"

think about it.

the secret with having a stable wardrobe that looks good long term is having a good attitude about it. if you have a sort of hording mentality or a "optimal fashion" mentality it will look shit in days. if you have a innocent approach you could look good for a lifetime.

i'd imagine most people interested in fashion grapple with this too, but most of us have the luxury of not having unlimited funds for cops, which forces you to be more discretionary with purchases out of sheer necessity, and in doing so will better define the borders of your own personal style. obviously, tastes change over time and theres going to be a lot of stuff you regret, but the more you wear clothes and buy them gradually, youll become better able to adapt to changes and probably have to deal with less identity crises regarding your style

get all the basics i guess
but also cop the super beautiful pieces, that should work
the hardest part is finding high quality basics that fit you, and getting super beautiful pieces
