Yohji is not a designer who puts out "statement" pieces or pieces that are distinctly recognizable for the most part (maybe a handful every season, like pants or coats), and there is tons of Yohji on the second hand market that are all very cheap.

There is no hype surrounding that jacket, Yohji has done hundreds like it throughout his career.

which is unfortunate because japanese fashion magazines are bomb. there were a bunch when i went to study in Hong Kong for a quater at my unis sister school.
They aren't like american or western fashion magazines that focus on editorials, stories, or ads - they're literally like manuals or guides "try this, go here, this is how you do this". they're very surgical and detail heavy.

Yep, just look at popular social network designs in Japan (mixi, Ameba). They've always been rather text-heavy.
A side-effect of that is more people would rather buy magazines than look at snaps online, which I guess is a good move, most of the websites provide minimal information and are more along the lines of "look what's gonna be in the next issue!"

I guess it seems odd from the perspective of Westerners who are now used to getting their news and everything online.
