I think the general consensus would be that they're too 'loud', which, could be true in places like the US. I think in Europe they're more lenient towards brighter colours so I'm definitely not out of place.

I have a feeling a lot of American taste is based off of the 'not-too-loud factor'...But that's a vague idea I have.

i think it was improperly stored as the right shoulder does not fit as well as the left

in other words the left shoulder fits perfectly and the right one hangs a little too far with an odd bump forming in the shoulder
