Okay I'll give you a legit answer (Even though i didn't get the job because they were biased faggots)

They will ask you why you want to work there... what you can offer them... why they should hire you... and they may even do a bit of role play e.g. "Hi, these shoes fit too small, can I have a size bigger?". Just to see what your etiquette is like. They may also ask things like "How would you deal with an angry customer" etc.

In most cases, it's a group interview. You'll be with about 8-10 people, most will be suburban white kids from the suburbs. Know what loss prevention is. Know basic retail terms. Have answers prepared for questions like "why do you want to work here?" "What kind of music do you like?" and "how would you describe Urban Outfitters' audience?"

Read their mission statement, understand URBN Group's values.

Depending on the boutique (and I hope it's not UO) is to dress on trend and "as stylish" as the place you are applying to "allows" (that doesn't mean you have to dress exactly like a mannequin, but something that is proffesional enough for an interview but stylish enough where you don't *look* like you're going to one, if that makes sense).

Like they say "dress for the job you want..."

If they can tell you have a sense of style and are confident enough to give people advice about fashion related to their clothes then you're only half way there.


The other half is being genuine. This is what they really want, after being fashion-minded. If you can create "genuine" moments within a minute or two of talking to someone (esp. the interviewer) then you've sold the deal. They want confident, well-spoken people that can social engineer the shit out of a pair of jeans.

Ultimately they're looking for people persons, so just smile a lot and be positive about whatever answer you give.
