Hey /fa/, I'm pretty new here. 1.5 years ago I looked pretty bad generally a.k.a. Ottermode-Skinny, bad hair and un-fa
I started going to the gym, then paid more attention to hair, and now I'm looking more into clothing. I'm 6'0", 18, curly/wavy-ish hair, 7/10 face and might turn from ottermode to athletic in a year since fast gains.
I've always been unsure what would suit me, and I generally wear loose neck tees or slim fit tees, going with denim shorts that go down to my knees.
I kinda fell in love with an outfit I saw earlier on /fa/ (pic related)
Help a /fa/m in need.
Will bump with my shoes and what I'm wearing right now.

You're looking at monochrome/goof ninja. Look up the designers Rick Owens, Damir Doma, and Yohji Yamamoto(some of /fa/'s favorite designers). Browse through some of their clothes, and get some inspiration from their shows.

Goof ninja is one of the most expensive styles to get in to, so if you don't have the money, don't do it. Half-assed(full zara) looks completely silly.

Also, the shoes look like Common Projects BBall Hi tops

Thanks, really appreciate it.

this post just makes me sad
>this is the monochrome aka gothninja look
>Rick Owens, Damir Doma, Yohji are all gothninja designers they even say so in their interviews
wow such wisdom

tf? I never said they were gothninja designers. Yohji doesn;t really make gothninja, but he is monochrome. And I said look at their clothes/shows...not their interviews you mongoloid.

I don't really know how to take your comment above since I don't really know how should I react. Maybe include things I could improve?

>> No.8618115

Shit, was reffering to the other comment.

Here's something you can do to instantly start becoming /fa/: get rid of all graphic shirts. Plain black/white/grey shirts are your friend.

i'm going to blow your mind right now
>anything can be monochrome because that's only dependent on the colors of the outfit

you should stop labeling styles you don't understand or wear, and just give people advice on stuff you actually know about. If OP wants to know more about fashion you shouldn't say anything; if OP wants suggestions on a truly life-changing anime, then you should probably speak up

Oh piss off with your technicalities. If he is looking for "monochrome" on /fa/, he is going to find mostly black/white shit like in his original pic.

don't be a jerk, at least he's trying to help

this is a pretty bad fit, but there's hope. first of all, burn the jorts, they are difficult to pull off in general, and those don't fit well and they look cheap. depending on your preferences, you're probably going to want to start off with some basic chino shorts from j. crew, gap, or uniqlo.

the t-shirt might be ok with a more goobninja fit but its hard to tell. as it is, it doesn't really work with those shorts. basic tees in white, black, grey, and navy from the stores i mentioned above are a great place to start.

your shoes are no good, ecco is cheap and the shoes look it. if you want a basic plimsoll, start out with some vans authentics or converse jack purcells. after that, you can decide if you want to get into more streetwear kinds of sneakers (i.e. nike, new balance, adidas) or more "fashion" kinds of sneakers (buttero, common projects, national standard).

my advice sucks and im bad at life but hopefully this gives you some idea. also, see pic related for some (partially joking) ideas of what else you'll need for a basic wardrobe. best of luck friend!

its like you have no idea where you are

>> No.8618223

I guess /fa/ promotes ottermode a lot. I want to reach 73ish kgs with 9% bf, so I'm still wondering how I'll look.

Thanks brahs, will take notice of everything.

Bumping because I may or may not be able to drop some knowledge later but someone else can help.

Parts of this guide must be straight incomprehensible to the uninitiated, it doesn't offer a guide for navigating the logistical gulf between e.g. a Uniqlo and Damir recommendation (very possible, but it requires a support structure of concepts and knowledge it just doesn't provide), and the idea of telling more people to buy Docs or anyone ever to buy American Giant makes me want to puke, though less than telling people to dress like a cop from any time period or the use of "nigger."

All that said, that might just be the best, msot useful intro infographic I've seen.

"Monochrome" should never have become a buzzword. I can think of exactly zero garments, fits, collections, or designer careers where the most interesting or distinctive thing about them is that they use a monochromatic palette. And no distinct movement/phenomena/trend where all black/white errything was was set it apart.

Black is just perennially chic and supremely versatile, because like any absence it can be filled with whatever you want. Using it to lump any vaguely interesting designer from the last thirty years who's sent an all-black fit down the runway together is daft as all fuck.

You should really find out what you like before you go about changing yourself. The fit you posted is alright now, but in a few months you might come to dislike it. Lurk around and find what style would look best on you and what some good brands are.

Also, a cheaper alternative to the shoes he is wearing in the pic are all white Vans Sk8 hi-s.
