I see what you mean when you say they're not too expensive, for that kind of watch, but it's still a completely different budget than the Rodina (it's not even 150$...), and everyone seems to agree it's a fairly reliable watch.

If you're some kind of a watch purist, I can completely understand that you're not fond of that "rip off" (i'd call it a homage myself but w/e), but I don't think it makes the Rodina a bad watch in itself.
