I think there are versions of it that are interesting and pretty wearable, but it's definitely a harder style to pull off. The Thom Browne ones have a variety of frame shapes, which makes it a bit easier. Veronique's done several with Linda Farrow and those have such a classic front, that the side detail is just a little extra flourish, but those aren't in production anymore.

Super does a few versions, too, notably the Sideview and Top Ski and the latter has overt sport references, but the tonal finish makes it a little easier.
