Check out Naked and Famous' Weird Guy cut, especially the high rise version if you can find it. In general, you should be looking for pants with a relaxed top block and a tapered (not skinny) leg.
You could also check out Docker's Alpha collection if you're on a budget. They're not jeans, but they're made well. I have a pair of Alpha chinos that is still going strong after 3 years of regular wear.

I'm 5'11", 155lb with big thighs and tiny calves/ankles. Looking for jeans < $50.

Tried levis 508s, but they just highlight my chunky thighs. 514s fit great in the thighs, but flair out like boot cuts below. 511s are skin tight and awkward as fuck.

Need some new trainers/shoes but I'm not sure what to get and it's really annoying me.

I was going to get some Air Max 90s but I think their time has passed and I'd look too "late". The fit is good, but the quality and construction are shit, plus the color will be fucked after one wash if you don't get the Stay Cash. Uniqlo jeans are pretty much the same quality and they actually stay black after washing for 1/4 the price.

drapes depend largely on the materials used, a medium viscose tee will probably drape much better than a large cotton tee. AA does viscose tees fairly cheap, but i've never handled them and couldn't tell you about drape, fit and quality. then again it might be worth your time to save up for a nicer piece instead of just buying an oversized shirt.
